Wife and I are putting the boat on Lake Michigan this weekend and getting our new slip set up. Good thing for heat in the cabin. Anyone else that can't wait any longer?

We are planning on 4/17 for the launch. Next week it is forecated to be record low temps for Michigan. Snow/Rain, high winds Monday and Tuesday, high temps in the 30's and low 40's, with chance of snow again next Friday. Needs to be a bit warmer before we get wet. Plus our marina does not officially open until 4/15. I still have a few things to do on the boat before it is offically ready to splash. So for the next couple of weeks this is her home.

We had planned to launch 4/10 as well. But with the nasty weather forecasted for next week, we'll postpone to 4/17. Hopefully I will get a couple of days to wheel and wax while "on the hard".

Man, this has been a long cold winter in Michigan.

I work in the Ren Cen and saw the first "non-fishing" pleasure boat on the Detroit River today. I am sure he was smiling but he must have been cold.

I doubt we will make it "out" but at least she'll be floating. I just want to get all the bugs worked out of the new slip and make sure everything is in working order. We are expecting upper 50's on Saturday so mother nature should cooperate. I've changed the impellar and waxed so she's ready to go.

Be careful, the water temp is only in the upper 30's to low 40's.

We'll be sure to give you some privacy! I'm thinking we will be there around 2. Forecast is holding steady at "great". 63 and sunny, 0% of rain.

I meant the boat!

Whats the best ramp for us to use? I can't remember the name of the ramp we used last time. All I know is it was on the eastern shores of the lake, and we had a hell of a time loading the boat on the trailer in the afternoon. There was a storm blowing in, and the waves coupled with the delabitated dock, gave me a nice gel coat scratch.

I wish. I'd say I'm about a month away from mine. At the soonest.
