I need to redo my bottom paint (VC17) and want to lift the boat up to get the complete surface. I have access to 4 boat stands. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this safely? Do not want to remove the trailer just raise it off the bunks.

I had to help a friend of mine lift his boat slightly off his trailer to put a bunk back in place when the bolts fell out. What we did was put a towel over a piece of wood and then used a floor jack to lift the boat. This way the "tip" of the jack isnt putting all the pressure in one spot, its spread out over the surface of the wood. In his case, the jack was resting on the trailer and of course pushing up on the bottom of the hull. Maybe you can adapt this sort of "practice" to what you are trying to accomplish.

if you have access to 2 jacks - lift the front (or back) on each side with a set of jacks. insert stands. Move to the rear and repeat.

Depending on how high you want/need it - try to do it a couple times to jockey it back and forth

More than likely the stands will have a threaded shaft so they can be adjusted to the proper height and this thread could also be used for lifting. Get the four stands in place and start turning the bottom nut a turn at a time, keep going in sequence around the boat until she's up at the height you desire. Reverse the operation to put her back down on your trailer.
