Anyone have some idea on the cost for survey on a '06/'07 30 foot cruiser with twins, generator, AC, windlass etc?

What do I need to know about getting a survey? Are there different kinds? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I had quote from $15-18/ft. That included a sea trial if it was at the same time with most surveyors, some wanted extra. Pretty full check up, but did not include an engine compression test. Those prices are from OKC, NYC, and AL.

$10 - $15 per running foot is what it will run here in Michigan. That does not include anything with the engines...you will have to hire a separate mechanic to do that. Typical engine compression check and overall "examination" is $150 - $200 per engine.

Make sure that the surveyor is approved by the lender before you hire him/her. Some lenders require different certifications these days.
