I just noticed in one of the threads that new member nhprinter (welcome!) bought an '09. It occurred to me that there has been a lot of talk of finding leftovers and pre-owned boats over the past several months but, unless I'm missing something, not a lot of (if any) chat about 2009 model purchases, whether from dealer stock or factory orders. This time last year there were several people taking delivery of their 2008's - definitely another sign of the times.

So how about a roll call of '09 buyers? What did ya' get? Where did you get it? Why the decision to go for the '09?

I ordered an '09 210SS, True Red & Jet Black, from Gainesville Marina in early March. They are on Lake Lanier near Atlanta. The salesman was great, he took us out to an H210 they had in the water on the one day it snowed in Atlanta this year to show us around the model.

Although I should have been able to find a boat I liked from all of the available inventory, I just really like the red/black look with the tinted windshield. We still got a great deal on the factory order compared to a boat in dealer inventory, so I'm glad I went for what I wanted. The only problem now is waiting for delivery in early May.

Pictures coming soon...

2009 SL262...delivered to Winnisquam Marine in January and I long to see her again. Someone told me she is longing to be dunked for the first time (aside from the factory test tank).

I ordered and spec'd this boat personally and it feels great to know that it was built from scratch for me only. I felt it was the right boat at the right time at the right price. :D

I'm curious how much of an upcharge the 5.7L DP was on the 210SS, and why you ordered the 5.0L instead.

I ordered a 2009 200 SS in navy with the Volvo 5.7 Gi/SX 300hp. Wakeboard tower with two sets of speaker and the upgraded stereo.

We bought this boat to do our running around in. As well for the kids to take out and do some wakeboarding/skiing. I looking into buying a larger dinghy with a helm but this boat will hold more people and be a lot more fun. Only bad thing is we will not take it when we do a few trips this summer. It will stay at the marina in dry stack.

This is going to sound snobbish...but I did not want to buy a boat where people have walked all over it for a year or so. Plus...I wanted the new navy color that is offered for 2009.

I didn't know there was a navy SS for '09. That sounds wicked! I'll be back later, I have to go see whats happening on the FW website . . .

I finally convinced the my wife and we bought a 2009 H180 with the 3.0 Volvo. I am really excited as this will be my first boat. I just needed something to get out on the water and have fun with at my cottage. As I have said in previous posts, I originally was looking for non current 2008 boats and couldn't find any worth the price difference. I would have saved $600 on my boat if I bought the 2008. I also was looking at different manufacturers with 4.3's in them, none of them had the fit and finish that Four Winns had so I decided to compromise.

Just doing my part to stimulate the economy.....

Jeff

More displacement would be fun, but I'm familiar with the 5.0 MPI from my Dad's '03 Crownline 202 LPX and I know it will get me around the lake just fine. It just wasn't worth the $3,000 to step up to the 350. If they had a VP 5.7 or Merc 350 on the lot, I could've found something to like about it!

Thanks for the Welcome Sierra!!

We had the chance to buy a leftover 08, (that's actually what got us to the Marina), but decided on the 09 because of all the upgrades for this year.

The full color band, the stainless steal cupholders and lots of additional chrome made the choice easy.

Sorry about the poor pic. We forgot our camera and I had to use my cell phone.

The book on it was 19,800, they subtracted the Four Winns rebates of 1250 so our cost was 18,550.

Ryan at Winnisquam also gave us a brand new bimini at his cost and gave us top dollar for our trade. Along with setting us up with great financing... we couldn't be happier.

nhprinter, I agree 100%

For the difference in price going to the 09 model was a no brainer. The paint scheme is nicer and my wife loved the stainless steel upgrades inside. One of the other nice improvements is the addition of brakes on the trailer. I got the sunsport seating and water depth/temp sensor, along with the covers and "just add water" package. I ended up paying just over 18K Canadian for the boat.

Yes i couldn’t agree more. I paid $17,800 for a 2008 3.0 with depth finder, bolster, galvanized gatorhyd trailer last winter. I would definitely pay the extra $600 for the upgrades especially the brakes, stainless and 2009. You will love it!
