CNN is reporting that the "pirates are vowing revenge".

It's great that we have such well trained military - and this operation was executed correctly. Negotiate UNTIL the capatain's life was threatened by gunpoint - then take 'em down.

When you have nothing to lose, you don't get "persuaded" as easily. The pirates will not stop hijacking ships, so it will really depend on whether or not those ships will take it upon themselves to erradicate the pirates as they attempt to board. It is truly an act of piracy and therefore the pirates have given up their right to anything(imho), but until the the ships being hijacked are willing to fire back, I doubt it will stop. Then again, I guess we could just do as we normally do.... sink all of the ships in those waters, then no more piracy
