It got up to 87 yesterday in Atlanta so the wife and I loaded up the kids, dog and beer (in no particular order of importance) and headed up to the lake for our first outing of the season. It has literally been about a year since we have been boating due to the birth of our son in July of last year (not a good time to have a child if you are a boater). Enjoy.

Allatoona Yacht Club. We have been members for 6 years now and it is a great place to raise your children.

Eldest and youngest daughter admiring the lake and how full it is for once (Georgia is just coming out of a severe drought).

Our 9 month old son getting his sea legs and daughter who has cerebral palsy enjoying all the noises of boating (she loves the beeping sound when first starting up the engines).

We eventually put the insert pad in so that the little one had more of a play area.

The reason we didn't boat last year. He had a ball though and slept like a rock last night.

This was the dogs first outing as well. She even went swimming later with eldest daughter.

Gotta love the prop wash. Apologies for the swim platform being so dirty, but I had better things to do.

Overall the boat ran great for not having her out for about a year and it felt good to be back on the water. I just had the oil, fuel filters and plugs changed and she cranked right up and ran very smooth. The port engine thermostat must be stuck open because it never got above 120 degrees whereas my starboard ran normal (between 140 and 160). I will give her two more outings and then call in the techs to have a look at it. Hope you all have a great boating season.

Looks like a good time. We passed Allatoona on our way to Florida this year. Looks like a nice lake when the water is up. I thought to myself we should head down there sometime.

How did you secure the car seat? I need to make sure mine will work for my littleone.

Actually, it is a kid chair that is very stable and sits snug in the corner but I guess when the lake starts to get busy, we will have to find some way to secure it. So how is your little preemie doing? Is he out of the NICU yet? You need to update your thread "Just in time for boating season!" and let us know how he is doing. Thanks.
