Skipper Buds is my local dealer. Only about a mile from my house, but there parts department is pretty much worthless. Every time I call they tell me they have that part on order, but never have anything on hand and that they will check on it and call me back which they never do. To me this is just piss poor customer service. I can understand ordering some stuff, but at least call me back so I can order it. I always end up calling a few times to get what I need and in most cases end up some where else for it anyway. Looks like its time to contact Ryan again at Winnisquam. Only tried Skipper Buds first because all I need is the little white clip deal that holds the poles in place on my bimini. Didn't want to waste Ryans time on something so simple. Ok I'm done venting. Off to e-mail Ryan again. Oh is there some way I can make a complaint to FW? Will anyone care?

Personally, I don't have a "dealer" that I would say is my dealer. I use Hall's out of Muskegon, MI as they have some of the best customer service I have experienced in the boating industry. For whatever reason, most businesses in the recreation industry seem to think that they don't have to treat people with dignity and respect.

I've dealt with Halls, as well as Winnisquam. Our local dealer here in Indy doesn't stock much, and doesn't deals with Horizons only it seems. Call up Winnisquam. If they don't stock it, they can order it and get it shipped direct from FW to you. Shouldn't take long at all. Hats off to Terry, their parts manager. He spent a good half hour on the phone with me a few weeks back trying to diagnose my depth finder issue. And he was right, a new cable fixed me up!

Yea, Brownies ticked me off. I ordered an aft light socket from them for like $12 and they chargedme $20 for shipping. They have always been disrespectful at the boat show as well. Where is Winnisquam? Never heard of it. Another place is Terpstra's in Highland, IN. Tiny is the service manager there and is super to work with. Stay away from Wawasee Boat Company. They used to be a Rinker dealer and switched to Four Winns just last year. They are an arrogant bunch to deal with. Never had much luck.

They are on the east coast, but with the phones and UPS its like they are next door. Cheaper even then picking up from Brownies, they are 30 miles from my house each way!

I have tried FW and local dealer on this part. Seems that knowone can find it .... anywhere.

I am in need of the latch for the cabin screen door. Pointing towards it in the picture.

If anybody out there can find this thing, I will be forever in debt to you. I heard a nasty
rumor once from a parts dept. guy, that you have to buy the whole friggin' door to get it !!!
Now that would be ridiculous.

Help Please !!!!!!

Can you post a closer picture. I'll check Boat Surplus next time I'm in there. Or check their site.

This is turning into an advertisement for Ryan and the Winnisquam crew...

It's amazing what having a friendly staff, that is happy to order parts and have them dropped shipped... Oh - and the discounts don't hurt either.

Terry and Chris are also great to work with... Terry is the service manager, and Chris does alot of the ordering from people on the forum.

That's the best picture I have. My latch is now broke in two, and is no longer on the door.
I can take a picture of one at our marina, there are 3 other 268's and two 258's on my side of our marina, and they all have the same door latch. But none of them will launch for a couple of weeks.

Thanks for the link, I'll check it out.

The site is only a fraction of their stuff. PM me a better picture when available, or maybe a picture of your parts and pieces off the door, I may be able to match it up.

Okay, I'll see what I can do. I did not see anything like it in the link.

I don't know about e-mailing a dealer I have never dealt with before, I suppose it is
worth a try, but it's not much of a sale for them, unless of course I buy the whole door.

Maybe check out your local West Marine for the white clips. That's where I found mine before the store nearby closed :(

They're still open on 45, right?

Customer service is a lost art and when some get it right, word gets around.

Those "clips" can be found anywhere...why call a dealer across the country.

I looked all over the internet with no luck so far. So not that easy.
