Was out and about last weekend... and FINALLY found a couple of the Deadliest catch boats. The buggers are always moving around on Lake Union.

Looks like Northwestern got new paint recently. She was starting to look a little windblown.

I remember reading on another board that a guy who met Siig said he was about the biggest pr*ck on the planet. Cool boat though.

That doesnt sound surprising really. You have to think about how he acts on the show...in front of the whole world to see. I would think he is a little "toned down" for TV. Gotta be worse in real life.

Sweet. Theres a guy on the Sea Ray board from Seattle, he runs into the boats every now and then and posts pics to see. I've got my wife hooked on that show now...we watch it before Rescue Me every Tuesday.

What do you mean by always moving around Lake Union...do they not have a home dock?

There is a TON of commercial moorage on lake union. They have their favorites I'm sure, but I don't think anyone keeps 'rent' on a slip 365 days a year. That'd be super expensive for those boats.

They move around alot - maintenance, up working, making appearances...

I love the Northwestern. By far the best looking boat on the show. I am not a big fan of Sig and his crew though. My favorite crew is Phil and the Cornelia Marie. Cool pics.

They shot a TV movie here in Toronto last fall called "Deadliest Catch - Life On The Edge" and built a 10ft long model of a crab boat for storm scenes and shot it in a wave tank.
I'm currently working with the production designer of that show so I'll ask him when it's supposed to air.

Mostly they dock near Ballard in an area called Fisherman's Terminal (go figger). When I am on land with guests I can drive down there and usually show them a couple of the boats. Met Sig a couple of times. He's nice enough but certainly does have an "edge" to him. I chocked it up to his now being recognizable in a crowd and wanting anonymity. Saw him at Ballard Locks one day and he was very nice talking to people and explaining Alaska fishing, etc.

Cougar, now go get us a pick of the houseboat from Sleepless in Seattle....its is right near SBNW...
