.... with both Mercury Marine and Volvo Penta's source for engine blocks, GM's marine division, now that GM have filed for Chapter 11 ? Anybody have any thoughts, heard any rummors, or seen any facts? Could GM sell off its marine division? I haven't seen any news or speculation about this at all. Just food for thought here. |

For the most part it will be business as usual - the bankruptcy gives GM (and Obama) an opportunity to reset cost structure and renegotiate union contracts. I'd be surprised to see any major business disruptions as a result, other than for those dealers who are being shut down. |

GM's filing bankruptcy is nothing more than a reset button. |

I like GM products, but I hope this gets rid of corrupt management and unions, and brings a streamlined productive and profitable company. When we get back on our feet and are ready to purchase a new tow vehicle, I wanted a Chevy 3500 LTZ w/duramax. We'll wait and see what the future brings. Nothing to do with the bankruptcy, but I am bummed that 8.1L is a thing of past, the 6.0/6.2L will be the new big block. |

Has the government ever got something right that they put their hands in? Past office, Amtrak, social security, Medicare, Acorn, ? The government needs to stay the hell out the private sector. No where in the constitution does it award the fedral government to do what they are doing. We will all have to pay for this through higher taxes and inflation. Don't tread on me! |
