A picture perfect day on Lake Macatawa and Lake Michigan today. After running to Saugatuck and grilling out while looking for movie stars at the Saugatuck Film Festival (there were many but we did not see them) we headed back to Holland and rafted up with a couple of friends. Being an old blow-boater from way back, I asked Gunner if he had a bossun's chair on board the Amanda Faye. He asked what for and I said it was picture time.... Sooo, here I go up.

Then it was my daughter's turn...

Then she taught us all how to fish. This was one of six she caught off the swim platform, all the same size!

Then a perfect ride back to the slip. You can't beat it!!

That's insane! What is that 30 or 40 feet off the water?

I don't know how one of those seats works but I would be interested in trying it out. The view is the biggest reward!

That's 70 feet off the deck, another 6 to the water. No big deal for me but for the guys cranking on the winch, well, that's another story! When I was half way up and they had to stop cranking to breath,Gunner, the owner of the sailboat said to my other buddy "You know, between the two of us we're over a hundred so we deserve a break." I told them that my school of thought was two 50'ish year old guys should have the winching capacity of one 25 year old so get to work!

Excellent pics BG!

It's not everyday day you get the chance to go 76+ feet up and get pics of your own boat!

Way to take advantage of a photo opportunity! 8)

Thanks for sharing!

Hey Nauti Luv. How many girls could you get on that pole if it was on your buddy's swim platform?

I have seen about 10 girls or so on the platform at one time...why do you ask?

Back to the original pictures, I can almost see my boat in the shot with the marina in the bacground. Too bad we weren't there for the nice weather that weekend.

OK - I should probably know this but what is a Beer-Garita?

Whatever they are I think I would need many before going up that mast! I have been up several but never without a a back-up plan (safety harness).

Cheers!

Nice to see a birds-eye view of the 298. Good looking boat and a lot bigger than I thought.
