THis is a PM I just got from "Big Wolverine" regarding my post on the police. Nothing I love more than being threatened on this board. This started as just a decusion and has come to this. Maybe the moderators should look at this as a threat! This guy just pissed me the hell off!!!!!!

Being an elected official and held to protect the people. I wanted to inform you that a call has been made to your local jurisdiction regarding your comments and drinking habits while operating your boat. I gave my contact your registration number and a picture of your boat and he will contact the local patrol on Lake Winnebago. Have fun for the rest of the summer and if I were you, having beer in the boat would be a bad idea. I also mentioned the "drinking is a pastime in Wisconsin" line and he said "I have heard that stupid line a lot, still does not keep them out of jail."

So enjoy the rest of the summer on the lake. Sure hope all your safety gear is up to date and your little boy has his life jacket on at all times.

I am hoping its BS. Thought this was a friendly forum for discussions? Also wondering how the heck he would have my registration numbers anyway. I looked at some pics I have posted here and you can't see them. Anyway just thought everyone should know what kinda guy he is.

I think the PM was legit, but I can't imagine he really made that call. However, from the tone of his post in the police thread it wouldn't shock me.

Standard "holier then tho" elected official, if he was an elected official he would know that if you got a BUI you have a case of harassment and/or targeting by a public official. Here in the United States, the freedom to think and believe as you choose are protected by law.

I totally agree with you. I am going to keep his PM handy and if I get stopped take it to court with me. Just another corupt public offical! Its no wonder our government is messed up!

I wonder if he is on this personal quest on tax payers time? Maybe he's sending all these posts while he's sitting the bench and court is in session???

I think I will white out my hull numbers!!!! You never know the Judge might be watching...................

Guys...I understand the frustration here, I really do. Even though what he did may or may not be right, we absolutely need to take the high road on this and not personally attack anybody on this forum. We need to stay civil and keep our conversations positive.

You know, I never really seem to get to enjoy this spot often enough any more with everything that I am trying to get done this "summer" (and I use the summer term loosly). But it seems every time I get back to spending some time catching up with whats being posted TBW is getting into it with someone.
While I do agree that crucifying those enjoying a drink or two while boating is a BS response and blind eye to the real idiocy that goes on in the water - the sad fact is that most people do not understand the concept of moderation and sensability.
Since the government has pretty much eliminated natural selection from our scociety what we need now in North America is an Idoicy Law and it should be met with severe penalties. We can then blanket cover all these BS laws that in reality are mostly excuses and harrassment.
We just had a "No Cell Phone While Driving" law passed because of (guess who?) Idiots that are busy e-mailing, taking pictures, making driving or tourist videos, organizing thier music collection etc. and running red lights and over people in crosswalks. This translates in reality to a couple hundred bucks because the wife calls on your way home to let you know you need milk or she broke down somewhere.
Yet every day I see people driving with dogs bouncing in or sitting in thier laps. I once witnessed; while stopped at a 4 way light with 3 lanes in each direction a lady pass in front of me making a left turn almost plow in to my car because she was busy gazing in the mirror putting on mascara! The cops were in the lane beside me and did nothing. On the Higway home I watched another lady driving with her left foot on the dash putting on nail polish!
There is no dog law, no mascara, curling iron or nail polish laws, no reading law. But if these people were to be charged with Idiocy and thier pictures published in the paper maybe things would change.
The laws in North America gaurantee everyones rights - EXCEPT the people that actually get stuck living by them . . .
So with my once a month stop by and rant complete and back to the original topic . . . Uhh we had a word for doing things as described in that PM. Rat.
