This year so far i have lost 2 anchors, 1 noodle with seat, my favorite hat, the bolt that holds my waketower to the deck and a brand new pair of sunglasses. Do you think this will be enough for the lake to be happy or will it still need more of my stuff?

Other than that i had a great first day in our new F224!

P.S. at 50mph things blow out of your boat while you are not looking!

Marty

I've only lost a pair of tongs that I was flipping steaks on a buddies' bbq.

Now - how about a thread about what you have found on the lake? hats, fenders, etc?

I need to get some scuba gear and go sunglass hunting! I bet I'd find some nice ones!

I did read an article somewhere of a guy that scuba dove Party Cove on LOTO. I forget how many hundreds of pairs of expensive sunglasses and watches he has found, but he cleaned them and sold them on Ebay. I guess that is a good way to pay for boat gas.

So far, only down 1 hat this year, but I recovered it. My dad gives me a brand new hat which I wear out boating the same day. Cutting across the lake in some choppy water and pop my head up to check the heading of another boat...new hat in the drink. Gave me a chance to try out the new extendable hook  Only 2 tries and got the hat back. Hopefully, that will be it for casualties this season.

I have only lost a pair of cheap sunglasses so far (knocking on wood)

However, last year when I pulled up my anchor one day it felt either real heavy or I was real tired. Low and behold hooked to it was another powder coated danforth anchor identical to mine except it was black instead of white.

Sounds like you renamed your boat without following protocol to me.

100 yards off Grindstone Pointe in Lake Huron is a nice pair of perscription sunglasses. My favorite Camel Joe fishing hat is long gone to the depths of Lake Michigan too.

You learn to appreciate the anti-loss aura that seems to surround the 3 for $20 sunglasses from a mall kiosk. Since switching to those I've yet to lose any. That and since I keep spares on board I have extras to lend to guests that forgot their own. Same thing with various promotional hats.

There must be a 'law' that states the likelihood of loss is inversely proportional to the cost/value/need of the object. The more you value it, the more likely it is you'll lose it.

First thing I do when getting on the boat is IMMEDIATELY go below and put my car keys, wallet and cell phone into a ziploc baggie and leave it down in the cabin. The hassles associated with replacing any one of them makes them an almost irresistible offering to Davey Jones' Locker.

How the hell did you get an anchor to blow out of the boat at 50mph?

Baaaa Haaaaa............. nope they were two diffrent learning experiences. One got hung and wouldn't come free and the other was due to a crappy knot i tied.

Believe me the waketower deckbolt was the most dramatic! If i would have been pulling someone when that cut loose i would have soiled myself. My dealer sent a tech to the marina and it was fixed in 3 minutes.

Nothing lost yet this year, but I have only been out 3 times. Going camping next week for 3 days so we will see what we can loose.

I almost lost my anchor, the clevis bolt fell out just after I brought it up on board  . I safety wired it when I got home.
I did loose the tail of my helicopter kite, because the Mrs was new to driving & didn't know how to put it into neutral. She has since had starting, getting into FWD NEUTRAL & REVERSE lessons & done quite well I might add!!
