A new study shows boating incidents involving alcohol down sharply this year in Wisconsin And the reason is....... Quote: Experts credit stricter law enforcement and a growing public awareness of the dangers of drunken boating for the decline, according to the paper. I was thinking maybe they Banned Bikinis.. Or Bewbies.... There will always be a decline in accidents when alcohol is removed... Because, not everyone is a responsible drinker, and some people can barely captain a boat sober. |

Definitely not tied to the increase in gas prices last year and that many were not driving their boats as much. Many also forget that when boating drunk, or under the influence, they need to drive home at some point. Same rules should apply. |

I don't worry as much about the drinking Captains as I do about the people driving by me on a two lane road on a Friday or Saturday night. On the roads you have little wiggle room. |

Interesting. Now if they could just get the Harley owners to stop riding drunk! Funny here in Wisconsin how most Harley owners drive there bike to the bar, park, drink and then ride home. Whats the point of even owning the bike then? Most I think just to say they have one. |

Yeah, I'm not seeing any decline in drinking and boating this year, at least in the area of Wisconsin where I boat. Thankfully, despite the high number of 'high' boaters, accidents are few and far between, and fatalities almost unheard of. |

hahaha...... I've never understood the whole "Harley" thing. Let's dress in hot, tight, stinky leather, jump on our headache-producing loud vibrating motorcycle, follow each other around on roads like a funeral procession inhaling exhaust, get bugs in our face and eat a few, avoid death a few times and then come home. Sounds like a great Saturday! LMAO

Sounds like a great Saturday! LMAO +1 on the noise thing. I used to want one, but growing up in Milwaukee you grow tired of the noise. I had a rice rocket when I was younger and enjoyed that much more. At least on a rocket you can actually ride it like a motorcycle was intended to be. I get more enjoyment out of taking a tight turn and scrapping me knee on the ground more than "ride to bar, park, drink and go home and spend hours polishing chrome so it looks good sitting in front of bar". |
