Question to see what you guys think. SO the boat I am looking at is a 2002 Baja Boss 232. NADA has the average retail at $23,850, but they are asking $29,999. What do you think a fair affer would be? $25,000?? It is super clean with only 132 hrs on it. |

That Mariah will handle chop much better than that little baja. As it should being 27ft. I would look at something a little bigger if you want a smoother ride in choppy conditions. The Baja is not very roomy,all show and no go. But if you just want to make noise, the Baja may be for you. |

Room is not a big deal. Its usually just the wife, me and two kids. Most of our friends go out in there own boats. How ever a potti and nap area for the kids is impportant. |

Nada just dropped by 18%, it will take awhile for dealers to catch up. Also remember Nada does not reflect local markets. IMO I wouldnt give that for that Baja unless it had the 496HO in it. http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/boa/1275466474.html |

I would offer them 19,850.00. What the worst that can happen, so they say no. You can always go up, but it's really hard to get them to come back down. Boats are selling like crap right now. The season is over half gone, and the economy has pushed the cheaper boats under 15k. Try to find out how long they have had it listed. If they have been sitting on it for more than two months, the ball is in your court. When your the one putting up the money, it's OK, to be an asshole. |

This is a brokered boat so not realy up to the dealer what they sell it for. Thats the only problem. |

Just an FYI, I sold my 225 for my asking price, which was ABOVE NADA. I bought my 268 for 22% below the sellers asking price, and also quite a bit BELOW NADA. |

I don't see a brokered boat as a negative either. The owner doesn't have the time or will to sell it themselves, so who knows what they'll take. The more the dealer sells it for the more they make. |

It just depends on the boat, and timing right now. I sold our 1850 bayliner in excellent shape for 1100 over nada and our 20 foot Fiberform offshore cuddy for 4900 this last May. That Fiberform was a 1978 by the way, but it's what they wanted and could not find. In contrast to that, I paid a really cheap price for my 261 Liberator with a triple axle trailer. We at least I gave him enough for the tiresand rims on the trailer.............lol |
