I thought I would post here what I posted on the SR board because there is no reason this won't look good on a FW.

I just had this teak made for the head on the 290. I will post high res before and after pics when I upload them from my camera.

I couldn't be happier. I'm getting one more piece made to go behind the toilet to give it a more finished look and better depth.

Captain Rich at http://www.goodalemarine.com did a fantastic job! No affiliation, just a happy customer. Making a template if he doesn't already have it is a snap. Just trace it with plastic. Turnaround time . . . . 3 days and it was here! I've seen some of his other work and he's very creative.

Looks like it's a 'floating floor' -- which is slick because you can pull it up for cleaning and to re-finish.

I'd love to get a rough ballpark of cost... I would consider that for our 318 for sure!

Cougar is right. The pieces lay in there. There is some non-skid/foam type backing on the cross member supports that provide a nice grip but its not double sided tape. Together with the relatively snug fit there is absolutely no movement of the pieces and it feels very secure. Much better looking than seeing the dirty non-skid floor in there.

Not to hijack Cincy, but how are you enjoying the 290? Has it met your expectations? Any regrets?

Loving it. Perfect first cruiser for us. The option to trailer occassionally (in the process of getting my trailer) is a huge deal for us because we are slipped on a small, but nice lake, but have other great lakes around us and I can't be stuck on one permanently. So, we really can't do anything bigger even if the budget allowed. I've been really happy with the cockpit lay out although it seems to be the most controversial amongst SR owners. I think its designed great for our use.

Being that its a new cruiser there are a couple things that I wish for. Wish it had the 350 mags instead of 5.0's. Would love to be able run higher 40's instead of 42 when she was first put in. My swim platform lights both have water intrusion and died so I'm dealing with SR on that.

Mechanical she's been nearly perfect. Couple minor issues that have been fixed under warranty. Boy is it a lot of hull to keep clean. I love black boats as was my last one but THANKFULLY this one was white. Since I didn't have a choice I went with it am glad because a dirty black would have drove me crazy.

So, having a cruiser has been a great! Especially with all the rain we've had. I bet I would have only put 20 hours on my 260 if I still had it. With this, we have logged 45 so far.

Glad to hear you're loving the new ride - she's a beauty. I was always amused by all of the 290DA detractors on CSR. If a boat works for you, then it works for you. End of discussion.

Now back to our regularly scheduled teak upgrade thread - great looking mod!
