Of course down here in Texas...we are still boating. Still, I know its slowly coming to an end. With that in mind, what off season projects do you have planned for your boat? Maintenance, upgrades etc...??? What are you going to get done?

My list (I am sure will grow)

1. Onboard 2 bank battery charger.
2. Install 3rd pair of Polk 6.5's that are currently in the garage.
3. Thinking about a few more LED's in various places.
4. Trailer maintenance (just an overall checkup/service)
5. Of course, winterize the boat, change filters and fluids.

I know the reality of the situation, but I just don't want to face it. It's to early for me to start this list. Don't want to think about it yet......

David - got any info on your onboard charger? Are you happy with it?

For me, I will be looking at the following:
1) Trailer maintenance - new hubs needed all around this year as salt water has taken it 's toll.
2) Hull cleanup - still have to get the cement-like deposits off my hull from sitting in a slip.
3) Reupholstery of the interior - lots of discoloration of the white vinyl. I think my blue boat cover creates a furnace in the heat out here.
4) Install an amp?

I put in a ProMariner 2 bank charger last season and it has worked out well.

Hey, has anyone ever set up a cooling fan with a thermostat to pull cooler air into a covered boat when it gets roasting hot?

I just changed the Drive and Motor oil yesterday.

Off season repairs....
Cracks in the fiberglass at the front tower mounts

Off season upgrades....
1) Water/Air Temp and depth finder thingamadoodad.
2) Install 2nd stereo remote in bow area
3) If finances allow.... Perfect Pass (Star-gazer, if I can afford it!)

Wish me luck!

Don't they have a solar one for cars??? Maybe I'm thinking of something different.

Fall is aproaching fast here.

1. Install larger trailer roller brackets once they arrive!!!
2. Replace water pump impeller
3. I might pre-feb new bunks
4. Normal winterization stuff and maint
5. Tighten all screws
6. Check spark plug gaps and clean
7. Trailer checks - especially springs! :D
8. Have trim sensor cleaned/fixed
9. Possibly replace batteries - I will have them load tested and then decide. They are 4+ years old.
10. Wish for spring
11. Add to list as winter sets in

I added the ProMariner 2 bank charger this spring and it has worked great. No battery worries once we left home.

The dual bank charger has been on my list for some time. Every time I get ready to pull the trigger, someone reports having a problem with whatever model I thought I'd decided on. So I'm looking to you guys to settle the issue for me this year.

I'll also finish the F2 tongue jack installation. I finally got the weld-on plate from Fulton last week. It's a nice piece, if a hunk of drilled & tapped steel can be nice.

And I'm still considering having my bunks replaced & extended this fall.

Projects in work or to be completed:

1) Finally get my dinghy/motor attached to the 318 with Weaver davits. I have all the peices, just need the time to do it these days.

2) Permanently mount a quick release bracket for my boatsafe bilge heater so I don't have to winterize.

3) Speaker swap with Polk db651s and install a 3rd set. I'd like to add transom remote as well as another cockpit remote for the admiral.

4) Get that second fender rack installed so I have room to stow the dinghy in the transom locker

5) Lube/Oil/Filter the motors. Fuel filters, genset service. Go through every hose clamp and check for anything loose and missing since I haven't gotten around to it during the first 100 hours of use. New holding tank filter

6) Possibly replace front isenglass with Markrolon panels (clear polycarbonate)

7) Find as many nitpicky warranty items to get my local dealer spinning circles. The galvonic isolator monitoring system needs attention for sure.

8) Oh, and use the boat. We don't have an off-season for cruisers in Seattle. If it's in the water, it's all-year-long.

Sounds like you just got two positive reports on the ProMariner chargers.....

I had a Promariner 2 bank in my FW and it worked awesome so I plan to add the same one to the new boat.

Mike,
I noticed everything listed is about the trailer and you didn't put anything about Winterizing on the list..... Did we not de-winterize this year? Sorry couldn't help it!
Ah, I'm in line for a really hot place!

Yeah I meant in addition to the required routine. And yes, as always with these boats, 90% of the work is on the trailer. By the time it rusts all the way through I should have it set up the way I want it.
