Just got this e-mail blurb........ Quote: MarineMax yesterday listed 50 used boats for auction on eBay. It said in a statement that it is selling the boats at "all-time historic lows." The national marine retailer said it has been selling boats on eBay for about four years, though this "Clear the Decks Clearance Sale" is the largest boat auction it has created. The Sea Ray, Cabo, Hatteras, Luhrs, Bertram, Riva, Carver, and Contender brands are included, and many have no "reserve" or minimum price. Never hurts to look/dream !! ![]() Also................... Quote: MarineMax said it is simultaneously running the "World's Largest Parts & Accessories Clearance", which offers up to 60 percent discounts and "two-for-one" specials on selected gear at all MarineMax locations.

I am looking at what I "think" is a smoking deal http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 3DWatching If I can get my trade worked out and the numbers make sense, I am buying it. Admiral already said to go for it and I have found a slip that is ready for me.... |

Whew........ for a minute there, I thought you were going for the one I just called the wife on. Here she is. ![]() http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2007-Sea ... 06.c0.m245 But seriously, that Monty is a sweeeet boat, and priced very nicely. It would be nice to have the 320hp engines, but it will be no slouch with the 350 mag's. Go for it !!! |

I was just going to recommend that you wait until the last couple of minutes to bid. That's how I scooped my find although I did have a higher bid than the other guy or else he would have won by proxy. If this is really what you want then give them astraight 42K offer minus your trade right now and see what happens. They can always de-list it from Ebay. That boat is a beauty! It's a little rough up top from exposure but liveable. The "downstairs" is exceptional... This is what I eventually want to get to (10' beam approx 30' LOA). I think you and your wife (like us) are starting to realize that your type of boating is better suited to having some shelter and a place to stay if you want to and the extra amenities are nice too. Unfortunately, we realized this after the purchase of our 26' Bowrider and now I am working at correcting it. |

Its a 5 hour drive away for me to go look at it. She said that MarineMax corporate will not take it off of ebay for less than the full asking price at the dealership. I am willing to wait that out for a good deal. Its been on for 3 days and has no bids yet. I know it needs probably 2K worth of work in vinyl and it needs canvas too....thats 4K worth of "stuff" probably to get it in the shape I desire. She said its perfect in every way...except the upper vinyl. |

They can assess your trade first hand, check your financing and maybe even do the deal right then and there (regardless of what she said). A motivated buyer is better than some flake with a nigerian location and no feedback! It sure is a beauty! I had to go look again and noticed it even has a generator! This seems way underpriced based on the condition and options... 60K I would think is about right. I bet this baby was 120K when some poor sap bought it new. I looked at a 2005 22' Bowrider Monterey and it was very nice as far and fit finish and quality was concerned....I was just too cheap to buy it! They wanted 35K CAD plus the 15% taxes. Keep us up to date and good luck. |

If the deal works out, and it does not have the parts manual, you might want to pick this up. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2004-Mon ... 82003r3178 For comparison here are a couple 2004 322's for sale. http://www.yachttraderonline.com/listin ... Is Monterey still building boats? I know that the dealer here in Seattle is gone... so not much for local presence of that boat line... Looks very nice though! Especially for that price. Be prepared to be treated in the rough on the trade in... yeouch. If they are selling that boat that cheap - i wonder what the little boats are getting hit with. New topside upholstry and canvas will let you make that boat 'your own'. |

I know I am going to take a whipping on my trade...no doubt about it. I justify it with a couple of things though. 1. I am (hopefully) buying this boat well below book value. Market conditions in boating seem to be improving, so I am not worried about it. 2. I am a bottom line kind of guy...how they get there is of no mind to me. Be it price, trade etc...dont really care. I have a budget I want to stay in. If I can get the boat in my name, in the water at my lake for xxxxx dollars....I am a player. 3. I know it needs a few things on the deck (vinyl, canvas, carpet)...but this seems relative to the asking price. 4. This will allow year round boating for us. 5. No more rough rides through rough water (perhaps priceless??) |
