Last year I winterized with 40.6 hours on the boat and did the 8 point package. My boat is at about 76 hours right now and I will hopefully put a couple more on before I take it in. With that said, I am techinically overdue for my alignment, which was due at 50 hours. I guess I will opt for the full meal deal this time. I am debating on having it done at an independent shop, but think in the best interest of staying in warranty, may just stay with dealer service for the moment.

No AF, they just drain the block and dry-store?

Option 3 is pretty dang cheap. Up here, you'd be looking at double that. I'd do the alignment and drive service...

We dont need antifreeze here in my opinion. And for me...I store in my garage, so its certainly not cold enough for me to worry about.

I'm over here in Wylie, not far from you, and that's why I asked. I'm on the fence as far as using AF or just draining. My boat is on the driveway so maybe I'll fill it.

Yeah, stored outside, I can see your point. I still think it would be ok to not go with anti-freeze. Give Phil Dill a call and just ask...see what they say. Also...call some local places for where you are closer to and see.

Just had mine done here in Ohio on Saturday. They did all fresh, grey and black water systems. Winterized and changed oil on the motor and outdrive, and placed fuel conditioner in the tank. The cost was $332.00. Included in this package is spring prep which all of the anti-freeze is drained, ( A Major Pain the the Rear) batteries put back in and the motor started. I thought this was ok. In the spring I will have them service the outdrive and trailer. OUR TEMP IS GOING DOWN TO 39 DEGREES TOMORROW NIGHT.

I do have a question though, I have 107 hours on the motor. When does it require a tune up?

I don't know if I like being called a "ClownFish"!

Thats not a bad price at all. I do have a gen and AC to get done also. I think I'm doing it myself. Hope to get out one last time....

I don't use anti freeze in my boats as well, we temps below zero and day time temps upto the teens, for a period of time.

Just got to drain it well. AF salesman is going to tell you to use it if you live where temp dip down to 38 deg.

As far as taking boat to shop to have done, what ever make you feel better about having it done. Very easy to do yourself and for almost pennies on the dollar. If your worried about warranty issues, take it in.

I do what you consider you package #3 every year except I have AF through the engine. Cost for me is $245 plus tax. I used to do it myself. But for what it costs me...I much rather drop it off and pick it up a day later with it all done. With package #3, they will shrink wrap the boat for another $75. If I needed it...that is a bargain. Place is small, been in business a long time and just great to deal with. I always show up the morning I drop the boat off with a box of donuts from the local bakery. Always pick my boat up the following day.

I do basically the whole thing (except no water systems) including the drive removal lube and inspection...plus I do back fill the engine and manifolds with -100 AF which significantly adds to the cost...but I feel it's worth it because my own observation of the thermostat housing I installed back in 03 suggests that it does slow corrosion...parts and materials cost is about 100 bucks....takes me about 3 hrs...in the spring I reinstall the drive and put in a new impeller and thermostat...tune the engine (check points dwell...timing...idle speed and replace spark plugs)...then it's ready to go....

I do basically the same as #2 myself for my 07 H180.The parts alone are $190.00(Canadian dollars) with antifreeze, using mineral base oil everything else Genuine VP, I have added a fuel separator as well.Next year I will do the same but I will replace the impeller.I had the dealer pull the drive and check the alignment and lube the spline it was about $75.00.
