Thats looks like a hell of a project....and to me....not really the best protection. A traditional fender is soft and full of air. This means its like rubbermiad....it bounces back and provides some cushion. It seems like a rope fender would be solid as a rock, and also very heavy. In addition, it also seems like a rope fender would be more abrasive to your boat that a rubber type would be. |

I suggested this as a winter project for a buddy of mine who has a 36' wood-hulled Grand Banks as I thought it would compliment the character of the boat. He wasn't enthusiastic..... |
