It's starting to get nasty here. Could get up to 15" of snow by tomorrow night. Not a good time to be on Lake Michigan either.
Today
South winds to 30 knots veering southwest gales to 35 knots...then veering northwest gales to 40 knots late in the day. Snow showers...sleet and rain until midday...then snow showers in the afternoon. Waves 3 to 5 feet building to 5 to 8 feet.
Tonight
West gales to 45 knots. Snow showers. Waves 10 to 15 feet.
Thursday
West gales to 40 knots. Snow showers likely. Waves 10 to 15 feet.
Thursday Night
West gales to 35 knots. Snow showers. Waves 12 to 16 feet.

Time to break out the snowmobiles. :)

I expect that weather in those parts.

Here in KC, the northern parts of the city got 4-5 inches of snow but some towns an hour or so away in northern/northwest Missouri got 15-18 inches of snow. On top of that, we are going to top out at about 12 degrees today and go to -3 tonight. Wind chills are already well below zero, headed even lower for the next day or so.

To think I just took a boat ride at 35 degrees last weekend to heat my fluids up for changing at winterization. I had drained my block, but not done the rest of my winterization prior to last weekend. Thank god I got that done over the weekend and filled with AF. I'd be a nervous kid right now-wondering if I got all the water out of the block for the hard freeze we are getting now.

Gotta love the Midwest. I haven't seen the forecast, but I'm guessing it will probably be 50 or warmer within 7 days. :D

No, snow, but $hit cold in the all-year-round-boating-season of Seattle. It was in the 'teens for the last few nights.

I've got a cabin heater and a bilge heater running full tilt keeping the temps above 40. Thankfully, the lake is the best insulator and that stays around 45-50 degrees regardless of the air temp.

And... the wife and I are in Maui. Not dealing with any of the cold.
High of 83, low of 73.

We were lucky....sort of....only caught the edge of that midwest storm that most of you are dealing with. We got 10" of snow and about a half inch of rain on top of it. That kinda made it a little heavy.. :x

Has anyone seen my arms.... :?

For fear of being linched by all the folk in the Northern Hemispere, I shall sit tight lipped in a very pleasant December day

NO snow here...yet..but getting colder...down to the 20s tonight...but with the moderating effect of Long Island Sound we don't get as much snow as they do inland...but we do get freezing rain and ice several times a winter...I'll say the best thing I ever did for dealing with winter is buy a couple of 4 wheel drives....and a little Toro single stage snow blower...that thing cleans down to the pavement and requires next to no maintenance...nice little Suzuki 2 stroke and belt drive...

Looking a bit breezy next weekend; especially if you click the "detail" button.

I would suggest that we invite Al Gore to comment on this thread but the fact that it is snowing in Copenhagen, I would assume he is no mood to partake in this conversation. Cap and Trade is going to hurt the boating industry and the democrats have 60 and it will pass if you all don't say something. I don't have to worry about my reps but what about you?

Ah,
I see the website forecast I posted has been amended; earlier it was for winds of 348 mph, with gusts up to 440 mph!
