On my 225, the cockpit table had a very nice padded storage bag with handle from FW. FW wants $180 for just the bag for my 268's cockpit table.

I'm thinking of making a padded bag up to stow the table in, and while I'm at it one for the wood cabin table. The wife and I were at JoAnns Fabrics the other day, and they seemed to have any type of fabric I could want to make the bag out of, and foam padding to put in there as well. Has anyone done this before or have any advice for me?

The tables are 26x36" and 22x32" approximately.

I actually did the same basic thing for my sails on my MacGregor many years ago. Got the same canvas-like materials at JoAnn's as well. instead of zippers (since these would be stored out doors), I used large clips, such as those used on back-backs and computer bags. Only had it for a few years after, but they looked great. My ma even embriodered a nice sailing logo with "MacGregor" on it. Make sure it's doubled up, and/or re-inforced anywhere it will rub, or contact the table. Extra strength and padding for the handles would be smart too. Think about how it will be stored too. Are you going to have it hang from something or strap it down? If so, maybe some extra loops for a hook and/or tying down would be a good idea.
