Hi All. My niece Susan from Chicago was down in Jacmel Haiti helping a friend, the director of the Art Institute Fosaj when the earthquake hit. They were in the Peace of Mind Hotel as the Quake started my niece Susan made it out OK, but her friend Flo went back for their computer and she was buried as the hotel collapsed on her and others. I'm sure you have all heard about the Earthquake and the efforts to help. Most all that effort is concentrated at Port-au-Prince, what most don't know is that Jacmel has an operational airport that the government is not using to get relief efforts to this also heavily damaged area. they have no equipment at all to help free or recover people from the rubble. I'm only asking that you reach the US Sate Dept. or your Congressman to see about using this airport to bring in help to this area also. Thanks to you all.

Looks like the Haitian government has asked the Canadian Forces to concentrate their relief help to Jacmel....

My thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Haiti. I truly can't comprehend having to survive that level of devistation....

I am sorry for your niece's loss. Flo was obviously dedicated to her profession as Director of an Art Institute and may God rest her soul as well as those of all Haitian's who have perished in this tragedy.
