If you're going to this show don't get your expectations up too high. IMO it was a waste of $10.00 entry + $8 parking + $20 food. Not one single Four Winns to be found. Very poor display by all others manufacturer's. Times sure are tough...

Add Chicago to that list.

No Sea Rays, biggest FW was a 278. Regal had their new 44' there.

Not a surprise. All shows will be less this year than in the past. Plan on it.

And no Twiggy until Wednesday. We are heading there today, just so we don't have to sit thru Twiggy. At least it is only a 15 minute drive to the IX Center for me.

Glad to hear the 44' FW is going to be there.

So it wasn't there like you thought/said ?

I am convinced that until the socialist, I mean democrats, are thrown out of office in the mid-term elections, this economy will remain in the tank. However, if Scott Brown gets elected in Mass on Tuesday and the tax payers see a "light at the end of the tunnel", they might just start to pry open their wallets and purchase big ticket items like boats. I for one am not spending squat until I know for sure that the socialist, I mean democrats, aren't going to tax me to death to pay for a bunch of loser's health care because they won't get a job.

It was the 44' Regal.

Oh, I see. I thought FW=Four Winns. So what did you think of the 44SC ?

Someone put that on another board. It was a nice boat, as were the Cruisers we saw. Just a bit out of our price range. The admiral is still very, very picky when it comes to boats

I'm off to the NYC show this week. FW's loss that they won't be there with the V435 - it's definitely on my list but there doesn't seem to be one in the northeast. I actually don't think Regal will be there either and I am eager to see the 44SC. Cruisers will be there, hopefully with their new 420, but it doesn't have the full-beam retractable sun-roof that I'm thinking I need if I stay with an express. I'll take pix for sure.

Sierra, if you do decide some day to stay with an express, make sure you take a long hard look at the Cruisers 470 Sport Coupe that is under construction now, and will be released this summer. KCS has done their homework on this boat, incorporating some well thought out features. Like two staterooms each with their own head, IPS power, Heat and AC standard in salon and cockpit, walk through windshield, and a sweet retractable sunroof with headroom so you can stand at the helm, and not have to stick your head out the sunroof like you do on a few of the 43+ foot sport coupes.

(Sorry for the thread-jack)... I did see the 470 on Boattest. I am sure it will be an amazing boat as Cruisers puts a lot of thought into development and makes a top-notch product. I used to think that I would want an express that big (I guess they're really a 'sport yacht' at that size), but 40 - 44 is feeling more like the sweet spot lately. The 470 is 48.6 LOA (and a little to Euro looking for my every-evloving taste). I wish their 420 Coupe had the big sun roof. I'm actually eager to see the new Sabre 40 but that's a whole different animal. It's one of the few boats I need to check out that will actually be at the show. And I keep circling back to Meridian which has really piqued my interest in the 'mass-production' level sedan bridge arena. You may remember my posts earlier this year about how impressed I was with their 441, but that's now feeling too big. I'm looking forward to boarding their 391. I just found an '08 391 with 425hp diesels for under $400K... that's a lot of late-model boat for the money.

Anyone see the Meridians or Sabres in Cleveland or elsewhere?

Yes, I can't wait until the Republicans gain control.Eight years of a Republican president, and six of those years Republicans controlled Congress. At the end,the worst downturn since the Depression.

Went to Milwaukke boat show this past Saturday and it was pretty good. Lots of FW there and Sea Ray had there 50 Ft. there. I could get used to something like that. 3 different TV's, two queen beds, two full heads and lots of other good stuff.

I believe the Democrats have had control of the House and Senate since the 2006 mid-term elections and the crash happened late 2007. The American consumer is not going to purchase a boat that costs 5% to 15% of their monthly income when they are not certain that their taxes will be increasing the same amount. It is simple, the American consumer will either be able to afford a boat or pay for some dead-beat's health care. They cannot afford to do both.
