From sunny (sort of) Miami Boat Show:

Big gathering last night where Platinum Equity addressed the huge crowd of dealers and industry professionals as to the future of the company. As I stated several times over the last 6 months, there will be NO issues with them honoring existing warranties for the brands they acquired, including Four Winns.
Quote:
"In Platinum we have a partner that understands some of the difficulties we've had to endure in the past few months. We're going to come out on the other side smaller and better," said David Huls, president and CFO of Project Boat Holdings, which will oversee Platinum's boating interests.Officials said the brands will honor their warranties and offer support to suppliers. Huls also stressed the business would not be run in a public forum and officials won't make promises they can't keep.

Cap'n Out for now......

This is consistent with what has been actually 'happening'. Words & actions match up perfectly

It's been slow to get warranty parts and payment - probably due to the cash-only status that FW has been on with their suppliers during the legal proceedings. Or maybe because of limited resources at the factory. That should all improve now.

I'm waiting for a couple of warranty parts to arrive on my doorstep... but I have faith. They haven't let me down yet.

I am having a heck of a time trying to get the dealer to order/follow up with a warrenty part. Did you go directly through Four Winns or the dealer? If the dealer which one in the WA area??

Thanks

Good luck with anything from the SportBoat folks... Your best bet for anything local is the spokane dealer (alpine haus I think it is).

You can work directly with the factory because of the lack of any decent warranty support in Seattle.

I purchased through Winnisquam in New Hampshie -- so they usually point me in the right direction.

I just replaced my cabin LCD under warranty - and I ended up working directly with the supplier to FW. It just depends ont he issue.

PM me your situation, and I can try to help get you pointed in the right direction.

A few more details, for anyone who may be interested.
Quote:
“We will honor all warranties for the brands that we bought.” David Huls is President and CEO of “Project Boat Holdings”, the corporate umbrella for Platinum Equity which bought Four Winns, Wellcraft, Glastron, Ranger, Stratos, and Champion from the Genmar Chapter 11 proceedings. “Rest assured that we will stand behind all of the published policies and warranty programs for those brands,”

Also, Glastron boats production will be moved in the next six months from where it has been for years in Little Falls, Minnesota to Cadillac, Michigan, the home of Four Winns. The VEC hull molding process which was pioneered by Irwin Jacobs over a decade ago will not be used for Glastron boats, Huls said.

So good news for Michigan, and for those with warranties that have been in limbo. I see some exciting times ahead for Four Winns as well as the other brands in PE's portfolio.

You can read the whole blurb here.
