Bob You just got your boat and did the arch and radar thing. I think you are out on the upgrade for now. I on the other hand, put an offer on a boat and they accepted. Now, just have to have it checked out. Sadly, I will be leaving the Four Winns faamily |

I didn't know you were upgrading? Selling the 248 or trading? |

Here it is. I do wish that Four Winns made different style boats, but they do not. This one has everything we need. Plenty of power and killer room, but most important, a hard top. Got her for 19k. Going to do a survey next weekend. we will see what happens. I do know that it was repowered two years ago. http://www.urifoundation.org/uriboats/b ... pe%3Dpower |

Not very often does someone go from Four Winns to Bayliner... ![]() Those are a very popular boat in the Northwest... They do have lots of room down inside - and they are a great fishing boat. Nice repower, and a nice price... I think there's a bayliner owners forum that is quite large -- make sure you say hi! Congrats! |

Please don't take this the wrong way. I'm not one of those people. I happen to think that Bayliner gives you alot of nice features for the price. But have you sea trialed this boat yet? My slip neighbor has this identical boat. With the higher profile and deep vee hull, she's a leaner. I swear it looks almost unstable. Again I've never piloted it, just witnessed. Otherwise I like the look of the boat. Take me comments for what there worth, which is nothing. Just saying a sea trial is in order, IMHO. |

One thing I do hate is the stigma that is attached to the brand. I do like my Four Winns, but it really just a fair weather boat. It doesn't really handle our waters here any better than the Bayliner. The fit and finish isn't all that bad. The headliner doesn't fall down. Lol. Two of my friends have the same boat and they handle just fine for what we do. You will not find a better lay out on a 28 footer. |

Make sure you have a complete survey...that model is notorious for bad hull blisters. Not bashing the brand...just stating a fact. Also make sure sure your surveyor closely inspects the hull to deck joint is rivited, with NO backing plates. No backing plates on the stanchions for the deck rail either, just nuts and bolts butting right up against the fiberglass. |

There is a reason they are priced lower. They had to cut corners somewhere. But -- if the boat fits the lifestyle and the waters -- then go for it!!!! Like I said, they are VERY popular here in the NW for puget sound waters. THey have a good layout (if that's what you like). A survey is critical. |

Dont any of you take this the wrong way, but I didnt post the link for any opinions on the boat. This isnt my first boat purchase and if any of you follow some of my posts, you will see that I am pretty handy. I am aware of the "cheaper" build quality, but am not paying a premium for it either. The boat fits what we need and want. I just do not understand why everytime the word Baylier gets used, people keep bashing. Seriously, have any of you owned one? Sea Ray is supposed to be "Tops", but I have two friends who have later model SR's and cant wait to get rid of them because they are "Pieces of shit". The problem is, that when you buy that pricey pos, you cant get rid of it. And that is all I am going to say about it |
