So I have Woody wax waiting to be applied to my non-skid. I used some Starbrite Non-Ski Cleaner today, but it didn't get everything out. There are still some spots that aren't spotless. What works good on Four Winns nonskid? |

#1.) Soft Scrub. or #2.) Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, you will go through a bunch of them, but it makes the non skid white. |

Soft scrub and a hand scrub brush with rather stiff bristles. Just concentrate your work on just the non-skid area so you don't scuff up the smoother gelcoat nearby. Bear in mind that Soft Scrub (and other cleansers) tend to have some degree of bleach in them. So don't get it on other surfaces. Assume your pants will get ruined in the process. You could also try using Bar Keeper's Friend as it's a very fine abrasive, akin to Comet. That would let you control how thick a paste is used by adding water. Magic Cleaners are great but they're a bit expensive to use for this purpose. The non-skid will just chew 'em up way too fast. |

Thanks. Good to know I just wasted those $$$ on the non skid cleaner, when we have a new bottle of soft scrub under the kitchen sink! |

After polishing the shiny gel coat, I invariably get some polish onto the non slip; I found the most effective way to remove it is using a power washer with the tip held really close to the non slip. Graham |

I used two of them to scrub the entire cockpit non skid on our new boat, and one for the swim platform, and one for the deck. Where I come from, that is not considered expensive. A 24 oz. bottle of Soft Scrub at Walgreens is $4.49. I clean with the magic erasers to get it white at the start of the season, then use soft scrub as needed throughout the season. Stubborn spots I will use a Magic Eraser again if needed. Use what you like, but this method has worked for me for years. |

I just cleaned mine & tried the magic eraser for the first time & am very pleased. Very little effort is needed. It has not looked this clean & white in years. I went thru 3 of them, but its worth it, as there is really no hard scrubbing involved. |

Great for cleaning your vinyl seats as well!  If they don't have them in the UK, I'd seriously consider importing a case. They really are a boat owners best friend! |

Just to be clear...do not use the Mr Clean Magic Erasers on any smooth surface correct? I think that went without saying but I wanted to check. |

No... you can use it on just about any surface. Nonskid, vinyl seats.....I've even used it to remove scuff marks from the gel coat before. I've used it to get scuff marks off of floors and car doors before too. Not real sure how it works... guess thats the reason they call it "magic"....lol |

There is an abrasive chemical cleaner in the Mr. Clean erasers. The package says do not use on high gloss, polished surfaces. Also not recomended for copper or stainless steel. I would not use it on gelcoat. Only non-skid surfaces on my boat. I did buy the Walmart brand erasers, and they don't work nearly as well, but they don't seem to have any abrasive or even soap in them, so they may be safer to use on delicate surfaces.
