Took the H200 out on Silver Lake today then brought her home and washed her all up. Sitting in her now, in the driveway, smoking a cigar and using my laptop. If this day is any indication of the way summer will be I'll actually get to use my boat this year! We put almost 40 hours on her last year but didn't get to do most of the stuff we wanted to do, like the inland waterway up to Cheboygan. I can't wait!

Glad to hear you had a nice day on the lake Tom. It's certainly been warm enough here the past few days. We took our boat over to torch river marina a week ago. I'm looking forward to not trailering this year.

I would say you did pretty well putting some hours on your boat with the short time that you had her. Hopefully you'll get some nice trips in this year. If you do the inland waterway, plan it as an overnight in cheboygan. There's a hotel right on the river that you can dock at. Some other great places to hit up are Lake Charlevoix, Lake Leelanau, Torch/Elk Lakes.

Happy Boating!

Scott

The Cheboygan inland waterway is my favorite. The Best Western in Cheboygan is the hotel right on the river where you can dock your boat. It may be fun for a bunch of us Michigan folks to plan a group trip to through the waterway later this season. I'm always looking for an excuse to run it. I've posted many pix in the past on this site from my trip up and down the river.

Just came across this post...we spend a couple weeks a year on the inland waterway. Maybe these sites will give you something to look at while at work.

We've only gone as far as Cheboygan to the east, (staying on Burt Lake, turned around at the Best Western) hoping to make it to Harbor Springs this year.

Hope you've had the pizza at the Inn Between in Indian River or a burger at Breakers on Mullett! :D

I put a post on my blog about Mullett lake last night. We visited the inland waterway in June of 2008. I'll be adding posts for the other lakes eventually.

I'd be up for a trip up there again.

Thanks for the info! The wife is getting excited about the inland waterway trip but we're still trying to find time to do it. Between our daughter graduating from high school, our oldest son taking drivers training, and both of our sons travel soccer stuff I'm not sure we'll be able to find time! Then again, I need to hire another guy for the tech side of our company and then I should be able to get away during the week. :)

Scott - I plan on hitting Torch/Elk and possibly Lake Leelanau as soon as I can. We'll be in Long Lake on Saturday for an end of the year soccer party. I'd love to get into Lake Charlevoix - the only time I've been there was on a sailboat.

I'll post the dates we're looking at in case anyone else wants to go. I'm hoping it will just be the wife and I but she mentioned asking the kids if they wanted to go. The boys won't but our daughter might and the only way I'd leave the boys home (13 and 14 year olds) is if she was there. I'm going to start laying the groundwork for just the two of us going. I think we have an anniversary coming up! :)
