I spend a fair amount of time on the big lake and was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on the best ramp to launch at. I have used Lakeport Landing, Shep Browns and Alton Bay Marina. I like ramps that are not too steep (I hate soaking the back of the boat up over the swim platform) and ones that have ample parking. Generally fees do not bother me.
Suggestions??

There is a list at bizer.com and also check out winnipesaukee.com

If you have access to a Gilford taxpayer, the ramp at Glendale is really nice.

I have been using Ames Farm Inn in Gilford for last 10 years… They have decent lamp with big parking (truck and trailer) right near by.. They charge something like $25.00 for launch and park all day.

Ames Farm is great but call first. They are having a zoning dispute with the town and probably cannot allow launching anymore.

That would not be good  ...... We might have to find another ramp also...... Maybe we will keep our boat in St Lawrence River little longer this summer/Fall...

Meredith public launch is deep with a good sized dock right along side

Well I saw it first hand. I went to Ames Farm Inn early Sunday to check it out (I was smart enough to go without my boat first). Big sign at the entrance "No Public Boat Launchig per order of the Town of Gilford". That really stinks.

Also checked out Fay's Boat Yard ramp and then ended up launching in Paugus Bay. The Lake was super rough on Sunday. We got pretty wet when returning to the ramp.

I like Shep Brown's, but trailer parking was tight when I was there last year. Does anyone know if Meredith Bay has parking?

I have used the ramp at Silver Sands in Gilford, Christmas island in Laconia which you can only park at if you stay there. Trexlers marina has a ramp and parking i believe. Sunday i used the ramp on Long Island and parked there for the day but after memorial day there is no trailer parking. There is a couple ramps in Wolfborough center that i believe have parking down near the old train station.

slman your not kidding the lake was rough Sunday unfortunately i had to cross the broads from Alton bay back towards Long Island. We must have hit some 5-6 footers. Real nasty.

You launch at the town docks and then park your trailer down the road less than 1/4 mile.
