Okay so I am going on vacation tomorrow. Just getting the boat ready. Haven't even started it yet this year. Went out and bought two new batteries (put a switch in for a second battery when I boutght the boat) because I was down to one and second one wouldn't take a charge. By accident I wired Battery number one ass-backwards pos-to-neg/neg-to-pos. Results were sparks, welding of neutral cable to battery post and burning up something in the engine compartment. Does anyone know what is powered by the battery all the time, even with the ignition switch off. I know the bilge pump is, but there is also something that makes a whining noise when you first switch on the battery. Well, now there's no more noise. Any suggestions?
