How do you guys do it? I have read on the forum like twice in the last two weeks about people hooking their batterys up backward, they should be color coded ?
+ Red=Positive, Hot, Power. - Black=Ground. If your not sure go to Walmart and buy a cheap voltmeter, take a zip tie and mark the positive before you take it off, I dont get it.

With dual batts, and no color code, I could see someone doing it .... At least 4 wires, 4 battery posts.

I have multi-colored elec tape to mark my ends. My bro-in-law had all the extra wires (amp, helm, etc) run straight to the batt. Each spring he would usually wire something backwards. I went through, ran all his stuff into bundles, and attached those to main cables that I color coded. He hasn't had any problems since.

I added battery terminal covers this spring. They are color coded so that is an extra bit of visual regerence. However, my battery cables are red and black so that makes it real easy.

its easy to whens its 7pm at night with your wife saying "leave it till the weekend, we're going out in 2 minutes", and you reply "it'll only take 1 minute..."

cost - a pretty large 50amp fuse..... $50
2 new batteries to replace the 2 new batteries (d'oh) - $300
your wife never letting you and anyone she can tell forget about it - priceless....
