Anyone know a quick fix for ants walking the ropes onto the boat?

I had to put some of that ant gel down in between the crack of the boards by my dock cleats...They were attracted to the smell, ate and then died. It worked for me last year.

I've never had this problem but I did see a guy recently spraying the ropes with bug/ant killer that you would spray around your house. I would imagine that would keep them away.

We have a huge spider problem at our marina this year. This is THE stuff. Everybody is buying it
because it really does work. Only $4.88 for a jug at Wal-Mart.

we use a product called hot shot. it is for all crawling insects but we use it for spiders which can be a big problem on lake erie if you dont tackle it every time on the boat. It doesnt smell, stain, or leave a residue...it kills on contact and also repels. I spray by ropes, cleats, and canvas cracks. I havent found anything better.

Another product with no residue is called Bifen.....good for ants, spiders and if you spray in the eyes will keep unwanted humans away....OK for in the boat, but don't want this to hit the water.

If bored one day get some of those cheap ant poisen hotel bait stations from Home Depot/Lowes....you can sip a beer and watch them all march in and out carrying it back to their leader! Kills the snot out of ants and entertaining too.
