That's too bad, but at least the government is putting money into your lake. How much farther will you have to travel to get to the other lakes? |

All are within a 20-30 minute drive. We are looking at it as an adventure to go explore other lakes |

That's not too bad then. I have the opposite here. Our main lake (Smithville) is running about 5 ft high. Lately I've been taking the boat into places I would have niether dared, nor been able because they would have been dry! The GF says I'm nuts, but I like to think it an adventure! After all, we may never get to these places by water again! |

That is kind of cool. They will be dropping the level 68 feet. Those pictures show about 10-12 feet. You should keep this posted as they drop the levels further. |

Here is an update with pics. They have about 24 more feet to drop before they can get to the penstock that needs to be repaired... This cove is Star Creek and was 40 feet deep...   Now grass where there once was water...

We rented a cabin in the Blue Ridge mountains for the week of fall break and the trout fisherman are raising cain about how the swiftness of the draw down is heating up the Toccoa River and killing the trout. It has heated the river up to 74 degrees at times which is not good for trout that are used to water in the low 60's this time of year. I guess getting the lake ready for next year's boating season takes precedence over the lives of a few thousand fish. Just be thankful you live in a Red State that has their priorities straight. |

Are you saying if we were a Blue state that TVA would have slowed down the release schedule to preserve some fish? Not sure why TVA would do anything based on how the state of GA voted in the last election. |

I wonder if our government realized that drawing down this early would decimate the trout population? Totally out of character for this "green" administration. Some of the fisherman reported the water temp in the river got up to 77 degrees yesterday and not a trout to be found. |

This is absolutely amazing to me. You would think that the owners of the floating docks would have pulled them up on shore to ensure they don't get destroyed as the water rises again? Or will it fill slow enough that they will be able to walk down and use ther boat in a "smaller" lake? I am curious about the fish too. Aren't there hundreds or even thousands of dead fish that stayed in the last remaining water puddles? |

I would love for Texas to do that to my lake, the work that could be done at and below the waterline would cost half if not less. I could get a permit and dredge my cove myself, with water in it would cost around 100K. New boat houses would be easy aswell. How many season are they saying it will take to refill? |
