Spent a week at Crescent Lake in Central Oregon, had a blast too. I grew up going to this lake with my family, all through grade school & middle school as well as a few trips in college - some great memories. Needless to say I was pretty excited to take my family back to the lake with a Boat too! We camped at Spring Campground on the southern end of the lake, pretty busy considering it is rustic camping. First challenge we had was getting to the campground, I ended up trusting our GPS a bit to much and ended up taking some unnamed Forest Service road, which dead ended. Ever tried turning a motor home & boat around on a dirt road? By the time we reached the campground the RV & boat were coated in dust. Once there we snagged a campsite and launched the boat. I've never launched the boat with the motor home, let alone launching it at a small USFS boat launch. It was a bit tight but we got the boat launched and beached. Found a great spot near our campsite to leave the boat.
I had picked up one of the Anchor Buddies and I've got to say it was a great investment. I was able to keep the boat off the beach, except when loading and since the lake was fairly calm never had to worry. The winds did seem to pick up every afternoon about 2PM, but by then we needed a break anyway. We used three different tubes, the big four person from Costco was the best of them, and with 4 teen boys I could really zip them around side to side with it. The two person bat wing style was great on smooth water, but if it was choppy at all it was just to bouncy to really enjoy.
The Boat itself did great, with 6 of us either on the boat or the tube we were pushing the limits of the engine, I did swap out and use my SS prop but I can't say I felt it gave me any more help out of the hole. No major complaints, but I can see why a V8 would be nice. We did all of our refueling from the beach since I have 8 gas cans we take when we ATV we were all set. The only damage to the boat was when one of the boys grabbed the stern light, and broke the base. Not expensive but I'm less then impressed with the design and how easy it broke off. The 4 person tube did develop a leak which I couldn't find, either take it back to Costco or try to find the leak. I figure it's in one of the seams.
Kids are already asking if we're going back next year.

Well here are some pics of the trip...

Some of our friends on the Costco 4 person tube, which was a big hit.

My boys about to be dropped on the lake after catching some air.

And down they go...

Oldest son getting a bit cocky on the tube, he paid later.
