Maybe something less than 32 feet LOA ?????? This one is loaded. and she will fly with twin 5.7's 50+mph
I thnk about the only thing it doesn't have is a trailer.

2007 290CR :)

Essentially the same size as a 298 Vista.

302 is a nice layout...but not enough storage for food/clothes on board. It has a VERY roomy interior, and the aft cabin isn't as bad as we thought it'd be.

The one we looked at had quite a few dock scars, and the previous owner hit the dock hard which caused some spider cracking.

Still hunting for a nice 298....or we'll just put SeaDek on our 268 this year

Glad you went and looked at least. I know well about first owner and dock collisions. Same we had when we bought our 282. Spider cracks were not a concern for us however. Just cosmetic.

You can't go wrong with a 298 Vista. I have owned one for 11 years and my favorite feature is the cockpit lounge with filler cushion. Throw a TV back there and it becomes a "den" where the whole family gathers to watch the latest DVD. As for food storage, I have a 94 qt. marine cooler on the huge swim platform to hold my beer and the kids' juice and milk (however, the fridge will hold a gallon jug of milk). Swim noodles and other water toys go under the cockpit lounge and filler cushion (another reason to keep the filler cushion in place). Boat maintence items go under the cockpit port settee so I don't even need a dock box. The 298 Vista is a very well designed boat and your desire for one is well warranted.

The food/clothing storage was directed at the 302, sorry if I worded it confusing. We LOVE the 298. Really a 318, but that won't be in the budget for a few years. 298 is essentially the same boat, just like our 268 is to the 278.

This is our setup during the winter/today.

TV and a heater and you can use the boat all year around.

Here is a 2006 Sea Ray 300. Beautiful boat but what a waste of cockpit space. Four Winns did it right.

I knew that and the lack of storage space is par for the course with any cruiser and the 298 is no different. Where can you store a couple of duffel bags other than the aft cabin? And, then at night, you have to put those same bags under the helm station to free up space in the aft cabin. This is definitely a down-side to the 298 and I imagine for many cruisers.
