Beef ?? I have no beef with the V318. It's a great boat, if you find the right one. I just hope Fire did.

Little glitch from what I hear but nothing the Coast Guard can't handle. Should make for a great story this summer.

Just wondering cap'n, but what's your beef with the 318? Its a pretty fantastic boat that has a great layout and amenities. For a 33' express, its one of the best in class?

He has not been able to sleep since he sold his 268, his fingers are raw from searching the web and typing "Four Winns 318 Vista", he would never be able to live with himself if he had stooped to the level of a Monterey, Regal or Sea Ray and finally, it's nearly 80 degrees here now, and he does not have the patience to wait for a better fit and miss out on prime boating weather.

I'm not a betting man, but with all he has done so far with this "Salty Lady" I would bet the trigger has been pulled......

I wondered the same thing.

It was a friend's boat. Actually in decent shape. But not new enough, or
"pristine enough" for you I realize. Glad they found someone who is interested in it.
Nothing wrong with auction or re-po boats. Worked great for me back in the day. You just
have to make sure they hold no hidden surprises when you negotiate the deal.

Hope your H240 works out.

PS, I have never been on an RV forum. Any good one's you know of ?

Very true, for the right price they can be a deal as long as they check out. It's amazing how quick boats are selling!

Congrats on the sale! Happy boat shopping, assuming you are staying in boating?

Yes. Closed on the 318 last week and closed on my '08 H240 this week. Life is good.

Picked her up Saturday, after my new trailer was delivered to me. '08 H240 - lived on a covered lift on Lake Lanier in GA. No trailer, so I had a Loadmaster Aluminum I-Beam trailer produced and delivered to Gainesville where I picked it up Saturday.

Image

Trailer did a fantastic job on the 500+ mile tow home, barely needing to adjust the winch post to get my tongue weight just right. I still need to adjust the forward bunks up to the hull.

Image

Here's where it gets interesting. I just got the build sheet from Four Winns and of course it left the factory on a trailer. Pretty sure I saw that trailer a marina in GA while I was looking at a new trailer they had (didn't care for it - Venture Aluminum I Beam).

Anyways - I'm not a fan of how the bimini top is forward facing on this boat. It's quite costly to get the rear facing style from Four Winns, but for the life of me, couldn't figure out why this one was different. Until, I saw the build sheet. This boat had the Ski Tow Arch. But no markings anywhere on the boat from where it would have been. Do they leave the factory with the arch's?

Scratching my head on this one. Regardless - she was by far the cleanest H240/Horizon 240 on the market. I looked at one in IL, MI and was close to pulling the trigger on one in PA but the owner couldn't get the boat out of storage for me to view it. Flights to ATL were cheap!

Congratulations on the new boat. Looks like a keeper.

They could have sold off the tower & had the holes filled in.

Bimini looks weird. Can't you just get some different poles for the back?
