Hi , Has anyone got some tips on towing a skier or wakeboarder, I have only towed tubes and the kids want to ski and wakeboard, but I dont want to pull there arms off, (not yet anyway). I have a H200 4.3 GXi with a wake board tower already fitted. It was on the boat from new. Any tips would be a great help. Thanks Ray |

How old are your kids? You can start with beginner skis that are connected at the front that will really help them adjust to the popping out of the water. Just drag them at just above idle and let them feel the board push against water. Drag a little faster and they will begin to stand up.. once you see them start to pop up, give more throttle to get them on surface. Its very easy. If youre towing adults, you can do all these steps with more throttle and not as slow as they can hold the rope tighter. You just want to avoid too much jerk in the rope with the kiddos. Youre tower will help tremendously in teaching people to ski and wakeboard. The tower pulls the skier up out of the water instead of straight forward. Hope this helps. You asking how to be a better driver or teach a kid how to wakeboard. I am a Cert. INT wakeboard boat driver. In rider meetings hand signals are gone over. Wave at the driver after a fall your OK, tap your head after a fall your ready to come in, do nothing after a fall and its balls to the wall to get back to you because your hurt. In a tournament if you don't wave to a driver after a fall I usely have EMS on the dock before your even out of the water. Forget to wave and your not hurt, first you get mouth lashing from me and judges, then if your ever so lucky to be behind my boat again, I wont forget you. General driving; pull slack for the rider, rider should yell go as soon as slack is gone, then you drop the stick just as fast as it will go down. Everything I pull with has perfect pass so i'm spoiled to listen for the beep that is set at 21mph. With an I/O and no PP, sell the boat and start over, no really, give it gas to 22mph then pull it back to around 18mph, and good luck keeping a steady speed. Turns with no PP in an I/O you will need to bump your speed to around 22-24mph right before the turn and dont let off in the turn, once back inside your wake pull it down to 18 again. make backwards P, at the turning point whip the wheel like you are about to hit something then go towards the "bend" of the p at a 45 to the top and come back down the line. The rider should be on the backside of the P, roll over the first wake and fly on the second. Knees straight as a board in the well to get the pop. |

Perfect Pass makes one to fit any boat. I added one to my first Mastercraft I had before true wakeboard boats. |

rhino, I added PerfectPass to my boat. Would do it again in a second. If you aren't riding on a river or anywhere with a strong current, I'd recommend going with the Stargazer version. It runs your speed off of GPS instead of a paddlewheel. |
