Just recieved my quote for the 98 240 horizon. They want 1610.00 delivered for the platform??? Seems a tad bit high, what do you think??? I was guessing around 800 to a grand for it delivered. I guess it will have to wait until the next boat, since this ones 12 years old already. Is there another place to buy these from??

Sounds about right, little high compared to what?

A little high for what it is! No comparison, just the value of a product.

Price is right in line with similar size platforms on a similar size boats. Add about another $300 for a factory
ESP (if you could even get one for a 12 yr. old boat), and the $1600 seems pretty reasonable.

I paid about $1300 for mine 2-3 years ago and after having it I would have paid more. Made it a whole new boat. So the value for me is way over $1600. I think someone on here didnt like his price quote either and planned on making his own, but I have yet to see the pics.

Can you elaborate on " made it a whole new boat" for me?? What about it, in its function or looks, made it a great purchase?

Thanks,
Gary

It added a place that seems to gather people. Easy to reboard with no ladder, the boat now has a place at water level. My boxer will even swim off it, when before we had to lift her off the rear.

Thanks,

I think we are only going to go 1 more season with this boat. (depending on the economy for us). So putting more money into this one, is probably not the best.

That's the biggest thing to consider.

I'm with txjole...we spend a lot of time on our platform. I've highly considered putting one on my 210.

You're seeing a high price because their is only a few companies that do this. And only a couple that make good ones.

These things are WELL built, its not just a fiberglass slab. They use top of the line hardware, rub rails and the ladder is not cheap either. I opted for a small diamond texture anti-slip top surface that is 100 times better then the OEM FW fine grit they use on the factory platform. I had mine also color matched and it is spot on. Then you get to shipping, the platform is crated up in atleast $200 worth of wood. I ship stuff for a living and that crate is built! We still use it in my warehouse to store loose product on the top shelf of my pallet racks. If mine for what ever reason was damaged I would replace it in a minute the exact sameway.

Ditto all of the positive comments above.....I installed one in the spring on my 240. Fit well and adds alomost two feet of usable space to the boat. Wnenn

I added one to my Horizon 240 Limited back last spring. It was on a 1997 Model. Exactly the same as the 1998 model. We absolutely love it and agree with all of the previous comments.
