I just bought a 1988 18' Horizon [thanks to the folks who responded to my misplaced post]. I've noticed that the blower motor is whining and alternately makes the noise and stops making the noise while the blower is on. Is this something I can easily fix? I want to avoid the blower motor seizing up out on the water.... |

Just replace the blower; if it's the original 1988 one , it's done pretty well! Check the size before you buy a new one; they are available for 3" and 4" hoses, Graham |

If it decides to give up the ghost out on the water you can always just lift up the engine cover for a couple of minutes before starting the engine. Once it starts just close it down and be on your way. This will do the same job. |

I'd replace it for sure, you don't want to take chances with that, I replaced mine about 6 years ago with a nice Rule one. The old one was howling and whining but still worked.... |
