Nice Pictures. How deep was that river you were on? It doesn't look all that wide either. |

Nice pics! I've been through plenty of locks before, but I've never seen anything like that marine railcar. That thing looks a little scary. |

My sister-in-law and her husband went through the Trent Severn last year on their 50' Ocean Alexander trawler. It dwarfed that marine rail car! I'd love to do the whole trip some time. |

Very cool. That waterway is one of many that I have on my list of places I'd like to boat some day. |

Great pictures ! I've been to Big Chute with kayaks. We didn't take the rail though. Where did you put in for your trip ? I'd love to do the whole thing sometime. |

We did the whole Trent-Severn last year Started in Toronto, motored the north shore of Lake Ontario to Trenton, then up the Trent-Severn system all the way to Georgian Bay, Fabulous trip, great scenery, lots of locks (the Big Chute Marine Railway and the two lift-locks at Peterborough and Lakefield were certainly highlights). It took us about seven days all in at a decent pace, and met so many friendly and helpful people along the way that we got hooked on this type of cruising. Never got around to posting some of my pics here, so its nice to see these ones. This year, we tried a new trip. Towed the boat down to Kingston, put in and started out to do the Rideau System to Ottawa, then down the Ottawa River to Montreal, then back up the St. Lawrence River to Kingston again. Spectacular trip! Going though huge Seaway locks in a Sundowner 205 is a whole 'nother experience! I have about 500 pics to choose from, but I'll try to post a few here shortly. |

We put in a Lauderdale Point Sparrow lake. We stayed on the boat for just over a week. Have a buddy on Sparrow so we hung out in Deep Bay a lot. Have put in there previous year and went out to Penatang great trip! |
