Up until a few weeks ago my favorite pass time was taking the jeep out and beating the snot out of it. I just loved the view from the top of a huge cliff or something like that.

Now I have come to the conclusion that this is my new favorite view. It speaks for itself.

That is a nice picture. I just enjoy being outside, but it sure is hard to beat a day on the boat.

I get outside every chance I get. I started a jeep club a year ago this weekend, and we have 210 members already and we have a lot of off road events, and a few up us have even gotten together to wheel around the country as a group. The furthest I have made it was Badlands off-road park in Attica, IN.

If I am not out thrashing the jeep I am camping. We have reservation for every other week at the local campground. Now that I have been bitten hard by the boat bug, I am going to have to find time to fit that in.

No wonder why my yard is nearly a foot tall.

In my experience the yard is the first thing that goes once you become a boat owner.

I'm thinking my X-mas this year will be 10 gallons of Round-Up for next summer's boating season.

looks like your upholstery could use a little TLC!

Try a Mr. Clean Magic eraser and a whole bunch of elbow grease.

Here is an example of the grime I started with:

Here is the result after about 30 minutes of good hard cleaning and a completely destroyed Magic Eraser.

Funny you should mention it. Saturday I bought a bottle of that Star Brite mildew stain remover. I spent a little time cleaning with it yesterday, and it made a world of difference. My upholstery is in pretty bad shape from years of being left in the sun, and never being cleaned. I am going to clean up what I can and just have the rest recovered. I may even just order all new seats from Overtons in the spring.

Those are both great views G! I traded my V8 06' 4Runner a couple months ago. I never abused it... BUT, man it made me feel a whole lot more comfy than I should have been on a few off road hunting trips. 8)

Try using a Magic Eraser, then the stain remover. Then make sure you wipe it down again whit some type of vinyl conditioner. I thought I was going to have to trash my interior as well, however it came back to life!

I basically did this on my 88 200 Horizon (same hull BTW as the 205 Sundowner). I used pontoon captain's chairs (color scheme matched the coaming panels which were still good) and I found that a pair of pontoon 36" benches perfectely replaced the old rear bench seat. Got all of it from Overtons'. I had to have the bow cushions re-done by a local upholstery guy...did a nice job. I had him make me bow and cockpit covers so the boat's always covered when not in use and the interior still looks like new (did this starting in 2003, finished in 2007 when I completed the deck replacement). Now I have to tackle the faded red gelcoat. I tried buffing it with a rotary Makita buffer but it really need to be wet sanded. I am going to try that before getting it painted. It's a work in progress, but I do get a lot of satifaction fixing up old stuff....

One reason why I stuck with this old one...the hull design is great for good ride and stability (21* deadrise, a true Deep-Vee hull). That and the fact these older 200s are about a foot longer than the newer ones (20'9" vs 19'8"). And finally the engine access is very easy once you get the rear seats out of the way...

BTW I am not in a Jeep club but I have been a Jeep fanatic for over 30 years, I have a 98 Grand with the tried and true 4.0 AMC designed inline 6 and the selectrac fulltime/part time manual transfer case, and a 2007 Grand Limited with the Hemi Quadradrive II system. I like both but the mechanical simplicity of the 98 is great. However, buying the 07 Hemi at least temporarily satisfied my need for a muscle car.....for now.....almost bought a Challenger last summer...thought the Hemi Grand would be better accepted by my wife...she didn't get the whole Hemi thing till she drove it herself...now she understands the muscle car mystique....

My seats are ripped on top from age and sun damage. Not too bad that they aren't useable but if you want them to look good a new seat is the answer. I also have a few other issues to attend to, but I love this boat and it would probably take a really good deal on a bigger Vista or Liberator to pry me out of it.

Have you gone to Silver Lake in Michigan with your Jeep? We went there for the first time a few weeks ago, and it is a Jeep playground. It is all huge sand dunes on Lake Michigan. Take the ferry...you will not be disappointed! I'm sure your Jeep will be a little more fun than our 3/4 ton Avalanche!!
