Does anyone have any experience with Transhield cover (shrink wrap alternative). My dealer is using it for the first time this fall and he was asking if I was interested since (unfortunately) my boat will be spending the winter outside this year. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I am a believer in the transhield covers. I bought 4 of them last year. They are very thick and the fuzzy lining helps prevent scratches. They didn't have the exact covers for all the boats but they worked great. I used them unshrunk as very durable covers and you may want to consider the same. I still have a '93 vista 245 sitting in my yard covered by one of these covers. When I traded my H260 the gentleman got the cover for it too (Byant 270 with swimplatform fit perfectly). All the covers I bought came off their clearout pages. My buddy has another 245 Vista cover and I bought a 225 Sundowner cover for another buudy.

Funny this came up because just last week I contacted them to see what cover will work for my Chaparral.

I would recommend that you have the dealer not shrink the cover. The sales rep last year told me that he believes they will last 7-10 years if not shrunk vs. 2-4 if shrunk and then you don't have to be as exact with your bracing below.
