Who is heading to the Chicago Boat Show this year. 1/12 to 1/16. We are heading down tonight to avoid the big crowds on the weekend.

I'm thinking of heading down on Sunday, Discover Boating sent me two free passes. Please post back your thoughts on the show. Last year was pretty small and I doubt that I'll make the drive again if it's going to be the same this year.

I would stay far way on Sunday - Bears playoff game at 12 - parking & traffic will be a nightmare.

We went tonight. Show was very small - could be smaller than last year. There was no Four Winns boat at all - 1st time that I can remember. Glad we went on a weekday when the crowd was small. Nothing all that impressive.

+1 I wouldn't go near that place on Sunday unless I had tickets to the game. I was honestly wondering how it will be having the show and the game going on considering parking can be scarce just for a game. If Sunday is the only day you can go, then parking somewere and taking the train in might be your best option.

We are heading up Saturday sometime in the afternoon. Thats disapointing to hear it's so small again. I've heard of quite a few dealerships/vendors dropping out over the years due to the extremely high price of having any kind of a display there, and there have been quite a few conventions leaving Chicago in recent years also because of the expense. Add to this a slow economy and it may be a long time till we see a decent boat show here again.

But no matter how small it is it's still nice to get out of the the house, be around boats, and support the dealers who are still trying to put on a good show. Heck...I think I might even go back there at the end of this month for the Strickly Sail show and look at some blow boats! :)

We'll be there on Saturday. Mainly going to get together with friends as opposed to look at boats. Four Winns will not be there. Tempted to go to the Miami show but that isn't in the cards this year...

When you go, try and actually look at some other boats, it will be good for the soul.

Skipper Bud's will be having an in house boat show, and you can see the Four Winns boats there.

Thanks for the updates, I remember that Sea Ray wasn't there last year and the show was limited to one floor. Sounds like the same again this year.

I forgot all about the Bears game on Sunday. I'll probably stay home, get some of my winter chores done before spring, and wait for the Milwaukee show.

+1 - Palm trees, outside, ocean breeze, boats

Miami International Boat Show
Palm trees, outside, Ocean breezes, boats, and $600 per night hotel rooms, $5.00 bottles of water, $20.00 to park your car, $6.00 Hot Dogs, $15.00 cover charge at clubs, 2-day ticket to the show $30.00 etc.

But it truly is a fantastic show, despite the over the top costs to attend. And they will have Four Winns boats there at least.

and $600 per night hotel rooms - I would hope at $600.00 a night the room comes with complimentary stripper(s) as well as a continental breakfast? :)

Wish I could hit the Miami Show but Chicago will have to do on Saturday. Hope to see you guys there.

Yes, no FW this year but should be plenty of boating friends from the previous posts.
