I forgot my camera but wanted to share this interesting craft. ![]() For a river/small lake boater, this appears to be an incredible party barge. Very interesting features and very comfortable to entertain on. Otherwise, the Chicago Boat Show was about the same as last year but without any FW representation ![]() ![]() Had a great time catching up with many boating friends. Boating season can't come fast enough |

My wife took our digital camera into the Toronto Boat Show and she did take a couple shots of the Four Winns 305 at my request, but 305 pics were posted already from the Toronto show when we returned home from the Hotel. Now we did take pics of my wife in the new 10 foot Kayak we purchased, but since she wasn't even in her bikini I didn't think it warranted posting. ![]() Mike. |

Someone was kind enough to pay me a nice compliment on my write-up of last year's NY Boat Show. I wish I came home tonight with nearly the same level of enthusiam. Now granted, I am no longer "on the hunt" and it's tough to get me excited about any boat but mine right now, but I do believe that even if the new purchase was taken out of the equation I still would have walked away disappointed and uninspired. It was even smaller than last year with far fewer boats and vendors. Four Winns was absent for the second year in a row and there was nothing in particular for me to get excited about. One boat I was interested in seeing other than the Sabre 40 Flybridge, which was there, was the new Cruisers 48 Cantius that's been making the boating magazine rounds. The reason you can see the Cruisers 420 in this picture is because the Cantius was supposed to be in that big open space in the foreground. Weather issues kept it away... ![]() They did have the Regal 46 Sport Coupe. It's an extremely well-thought out design and something that would definitely have been on my list if I stayed with an express cruiser, although I'm not crazy about the lines. But the use of space and materials is excellent. ![]() Sorry for the unenthusiastic report. I hope your boat show experience is more interesting. ![]() |

Too bad about the 48 Cantius. That is one well thought out boat. I hope it will be at the Milwaukee show this weekend, and somebody can get a few pictures for us. Also at the show will be the debut of the new Marquis 42 Sedan Bridge. It's a winner. What did you think of the Sunseeker Portofino 48 ? ![]() I suppose there was no representation by Sealine at the NY show. Maybe in the next few years, hopefully. I really like the new extended flybridge on the F42. ![]() |

Sunseekers are nice boats but I find the sight lines from the helm to be terrible... ![]() Quote: I suppose there was no representation by Sealine at the NY show. Maybe in the next few years, hopefully. I really like the new extended flybridge on the F42. No Sealine. It's wild how much they've squared off their design. Those giant salon windows are great. I looked at an older 42/5 over the summer but it was just too small and dark. I am looking forward to seeing the new Marquis. I love the interior design. I boarded the Azimut 48 which also has a lot to like in terms of the interior design but the problem I have with the European designed Fly Bridges, for my purposes, is the lower helm station. It takes so much room away from the salon. The other problem (for me) with those boats is once you add any kind of enclosure to the bridge they look really funky. But that's why they have the lower helm. Despite the limited selection of larger boats at the show, it was good to walk away knowing there was no other option for me in the class given what I was looking for. |

We enjoyed the Atlanta show last week. FW was back this year with Gainesville Marina and they brought a 210, 222, 242 and a few funships. The new swim platform step on the Cobalt bowriders (pictured below) was getting a lot of attention. It's good to see some innovation and differentiation between manufacturers. ![]() ![]() The gauges on the new black and white H210 would look so much better on my boat than the white and blue ones I have. I may not pay to swap the gauges, but the fake wood switch panel will probably not make it to splash day. ![]() ![]() |

I like the look of those new guages.... but it kinda seems like they are harder to read than the blue & white ones though? |
