I want to add tower speakers but have a reverse arch tower - prob is that the bimini (a must use item in deep south heat) opens up just underneath the tower. So the obvious solution is to install the speaker cans on the outside of the tower. However i fear this will make the rig look like a VW bug with mouse ears. Anyone installed speaker cans on a reverse arch and use a bimini??? Looking for pic - if you check out my pic link you will see my situation.

any input appreciated

I have the same issue, I have wakeboard racks outside the tower but they swing in for storage or when I pull into a covered slip. I have nearly ripped them off on a couple occasions when I "forgot" to swing them in, this makes for a not so nice show when I hit support beams with them. I am worried about speakers outside the arch not clearing. I have given thoughts to getting the "hard top" for my SL242 but I cant find anywhere that sells them, this would free up some mounting positions.

The two piece bimini that came with my boat (reverse arch) has circular openings in the cloth that allow for the installation of tower speakers in the standard location, my problem is that there are no predrilled holes allowing for internal wiring. NMJim has pics on this thread that show the speakers installed on the reverse arch tower. (viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6257&p=60242) I tried to PM him about how they were wired up but never received a response. If you do get it done, I would love to hear how they wired them up. I have reservations about drilling into the tower for wires because of the stress on the tower when wakeboarding.

My Tower is wired for speakers already - guess the prior owner had speakers/lights installed and removed. No need to worry about punching holes, but you want to make sure where first. It's not going to cause any probs - i think everyone has tower speakers but us!!! I looked at the pics and still think the outside mounted speaker cans looks strange - - also, don't feel alone in smacking something with the board rack - been there done that and it only happens when 100 people are watching.
