Is that in Georgia? Damn! I hope that had notified the other boat owner of what happened so they can remove their boats before it happens to them.

Lake of the Ozark is in MO. south east of Kansas City, and north of Springfield.

LOTO had a similar thing happen 4-5 years ago, but it happened to many docks, severely damaging or destroying hundreds of boats. Pomme de Terre was hit similarly by that same storm.

That is terrible. If I knew my boat was there, I would be getting it out before its too late. Even if that means I had to stay on it for a few days...I would rather do that than come to my marina to find it under water.

Not uncommon for boat owners at LOTO to see their boats 3 times a year at most: Memorial Day Weekend, 4th of July Weekend, and Labor Day Weekend. Wouldn't be shocked if at least 15% of the owners involved here have no idea about it until someone calls them after the fact.

Why aren't they doing something to get the snow off the roofs of the docks that haven't already collapsed/sunk?

That last one they showed looks like it could start to go any second.

Ouch...my in-laws have their boat up at LOTO, but not at that marina. Fortunately (so far) theirs seems to be fine.

Like Pet575 mentioned, LOTO is a vacation home for them and it can be some time between visits - if not in a managed marina, you probably wouldn't have a good handle on what is happening up there.

Exactly... think of all the private docks/boats on that lake. It'll probably be a few weeks before my sis and her hubby know if thiers is affected.

If that were me, my ass would be down there this weekend (assuming you are within easy travel distance) to check on things. Then again, I'm the guy who was contemplating driving into the middle of this storm to check on my place 45 minutes east of LOTO.

Here's a link to some photos. This isn't nearly as bad as the 2006 storm, but still bad if your boat was under there.
