Post subject:  Hi folks, new member/boat

Hi folks! I stumbled across the forum recently and decided to join so I might aswell introduce my self a bit.

My name is Marko and I'm writing from Quebec, Canada.
After several years of fun on bikes and cars I decided to move on to bigger and probably better stuff, boats.

I've been a water nut since young age but never owned anything to play with untill 2 years ago when I bought a Yamaha SuperJet.
It was fun while it lasted but I wanted something more so after a big talk with the wifey we decided to buy a boat.
Our initial idea was the h180ss but upon further inspection we decided it was too small for our liking. Then there was the idea of h190 but that didn't go well either for the same reason.
So there we were, in the 25k range with a boat that we found pretty but yet a bit cramped for 6+ people.. and paying more was out of the question.

Finally after some digging around and further discussion we stumbled across this boat, a leftover 2009 fairly well equiped with 30% off retail. We both fell in love with it and 2 days later it was ours.

Now I'll stop writing and post some pictures. Sadly we bought in october and havent had a chance to put it in water yet. We have to wait till may for the snow/ice to melt.
Untill then, I'll probably have a million of questions as this is my first boat and I'm very picky with my stuff.

Hope you guys like it (I know some dislike the graphics but that was the only available color and we love it).

So it's a 2009 SL222 with a 5.7L volvo penta 300hp.
Has the ski tower bar, upgraded stereo with sub/amp and transom switch, bow fill in cushions and some other minor stuff. 8)

I really like the look of the SL boats.

I even like the graphics on yours. Usually I would pass on graphics like that. It just looks "right" on that boat.

Good choice and congrats on a very nice boat.

So, you got that for $25k? WOW, that is a heck of a deal. Check the MSRP for a new one on the FW website.

Thanks!

Yeah, the boat was a solid 6h drive away from home but we go there often to visit familiy so it wasn't a big deal.
I wish we paid only 25k, but thats far from reality. The Msrp was in the 80k range with the options (canadian $ of course, everything is more expensive here). On the Fw website the msrp is around 74-75 I think.
Needless to say we stretched the budget by 100% and got this boat at 49k, pdi taxes and winter storage included.

I have a feelng it's a fairly good price considering the msrp and price of options. There is the same boat for sale around here with gps for 67k.

The boat will spend it's summers in Ottawa river. A coat of wax will be aplied but is there anything specific I should do to prevent the river stains on the hull? Or just a good wash from time to time will be good enough?

Thanks again folks, cant wait to put it in water for the first time.

Welcome to the FW forum, Love the boat, maybe will see you out there if your ever in Ontario.
Did you buy the boat from The Boat Warehouse ??? The pictures almost look like the same place we bought ours.
Any ways enjoy your summer, like all of us here, where starting to count the days down.

The pics look like it came from Don Hyde in Hagersville

Ottawa river is a nice home for a boat like that, I'm sure you will have a ton of fun with it
