A retired couple traveling the world since 2004 in their sailing vessel Quest has been murdered by somali pirates...very sad.

Just read that before coming here. Very tragic. I would not be in open waters unarmed these days, especially in that part of the world.

Agreed, but something tells me the end result would have been the same. It sounded like there were a lot of heavily armed pirates.

Very sad indeed but something doesn't add up. Typically those low-life scumbag pirates hold out for a very long time and never give up their hostages. Time to send in some drones Pakistani style.

Agreed, Did anyone ever see the video a few years back where the pirates hi-jacked a boat and got in a stand off with the Navy, they broke down and got a tow from the Navy Ship and the Capt who was held captive stayed in the same spot, so he could be identified. They then had 5 or 6 snipers shoot at the same time to take out all of the pirates at once. It was pretty impressive. But it is definitely tragic, what happened to those two couples.
