I was just looking at the specs of the newer boats and it looks to me that the older Horizon 180 was about the size of the newer 190. Specs on my 2001 180 per FourWinns are:
LOA 18-6
Bean 8-1
Wt 2790
Your boat (the basic hull/design) had a couple of names during its run
1997-1998 -- Horizon RX
1999-2002 -- 180 Horizon
2003-2004 -- 180 Freedom
2005 -- 180 Horizon LE
This hull design has the following basic dimensions:
LOA : 18'-0"
Beam: 8'-0"
Deadrise: 19 degrees
In 2003/2004 Four Winns introduced a new hull design for the 17 and 18 ft boats. These become the 170 (17'-4") Horizon and 180 (18'-4") Horizon. They also kept the older hull style and used the Freedom name to distinguish b/w the two hulls.
In 2005 they dropped the 170 Freedom hull yet kept the older 18'-0" hull that your boat is and called it the 180 Horizon LE.
Here is where it is a little fuzzy for me. The 170 Horizon that was introduced in 2004 has the following specs:
LOA: 17'-4"
Beam: 7'-6"
Deadrise: 21 degrees
This boat is seemingly the same boat that is now called the H180. I haven't had the opportunity to see these 2 next to each other, however, from pictures they do look to be the same. If they are the same 2006 was the first year it was called a 180.
The funny thing is that in 2006 thru 2010 the 180 Horizon/H180 had the following specs:
LOA: 17'-5"
Beam: 7'-7"
Dearise: 21 degrees
In 2011 it went back to the 17'-4" it started with?
2006 was when the new/current 190 Horizon was introduced. This boat has the following specs:
LOA: 18'-6"
Beam: 7'-11"
Deadrise: 19 degrees
