Finished the carpet installation and it looks great! Everything is in good shape and the bot runs great. Here are some before and after photos. You can see how the 20 year old carpet was incredibly faded and very worn out. Pardon my expert picture taking skills, but you can get an idea.

This was pre-clean and vaccuum, but overall it turned out great. Dont really looking forward to doing it again anytime soon.

New carpet looks great.

Makes me realize how badly I need to replace my snap in carpet

Nolv4v8,
Put some cherry red stain on that ski locker cover and the wood all over the boat the boat. Youll be very impressed.

Great job. Maybe it's my own advancing age, but I love seeing the older boats being cared for and fixed up like new (maybe better than new). They take me back to a time when boating and life around a lake was so much simpler (and cheaper!).

Mike,
Just shows our age............. :D I remember having a keg in our 78 Nautique and riding around with it, smart?? No, but things on the water were so different than they are now, for good reasons of course.

Looks GREAT...
When I re-did the deck in mine, I didn't want carpet so I had the deck gelcoated in non skid gel, just to not have moisture under the carpet, which caused all the rot in the first place. It is harder to keep clean than carpet but I am glad I did it....
Other options are coatings like Durabak which is a bed liner like material that is for marine use.

I really like your fiberglass floor. Reminds me of my last boat. It had button down carpet, which we never used. Very clean looking. I enjoyed reading and looking at that guy's pictures.. same exact boat as mine. Thanks for the link.
