We're out already!!!! Supposed to be 80's this weekend!!!

Well, it looks like the weather will be cooperating, in terms of overnight low temperatures that is. So, I hooked up the battery, gave the engine compartment a once over and fired the engine. She started right up with a nice rumble, that gave me a smile for sure! Most likely we have until mid May or so before we can get out there and enjoy ourselves. The kids are so dang excited for the new boat and boating season. Just today they tried talking me into taking it out for a couple of hours. I told them "its on 50 degrees guys".......their response to me "we'll were two coats and cloves dad, please, please, please dad". Honestly, I almost did it!! Anyways, when the weather breaks here, we're ready!! |

We plan to put our boat in the water the weekend of May 14. I'll have to see if Kollen park has any Tulip Time festivities that weekend. That might make it a bit crowded over there and tougher to get to the ramp. |

I was sitting at a light on Port Sheldon yesterday and low and behold a black and red H210 SS being towed by a black Dodge flew by me and made a right hand turn onto 40th (I believe). Ironically, I was on the way to my boat stored on 48th. I had my boat out on April 2nd in Holland....a new record for me. There was still ice on the piers, but it wasn't too bad and it was nice getting out so early in the year. However, the weather has been horrible ever since. |

I'll be getting her wet the weekend of May 6 in Lake Mead for my first time this year. Temps are in the mid 80's this week, hoping for 90's when I'm there. Even so, the water is still a tad too cold for me to plop in. |

I also just got my boat out and took it to the boat shop for it's spring check up. I have to pick it up on Monday, still too cold out though for the water. Today was 38 and they're calling for 73 tomorrow, I hate this time of year. I wish it would just stay nice out. Hopefully mid May I'll have it on the water. |

Thats funny that you actually saw me, and yet you were on your way to get your boat....!!!!!! I was just coming back from the gas station with fresh fuel! April 2nd, wow, Thats early. I think the next 60 degree day we get, Im going to head out for a bit. I simply can't wait on the weather any longer  Last year this time, it was 80 degrees. Typical Michigan.

Which lake are you on? I use mine on Lake Blue Ridge but it is still being refilled after the dam repairs... ridepate wrote: We're out already!!!! Supposed to be 80's this weekend!!!

We have a cottage up north where we do most of our boating, but we also head out to Spring lake/Grand Haven to boat the big lake when its nice. |
